Rian and Dru were allowed into the village. The scenery was breathtaking, there was a lot of leaves and animals around. It was truly mesmerizing to think that after the horrid labyrinth , a beautiful place such as this was next. The children ran around in glee, completely unperturbed of the situation at hand.
" As you can see, Prince Rian, we now live normal lives . We no longer practice dark magic because anyone who tries to practice it dies . Your grandfather and father used the book of spells to place that curse. Helping you would be very hard as no one here is willing to risk his life "
" I really need answers " Rian said
" Hmm " the man breathed " Although your soldier is being treated with herbs, he would have to stay for some time to recuperate, the wound ate his arm badly " the man carefully evaded what Rian said
" Are you indirectly telling me that you're unable to help me? " Rian asked cared
" I apologize your highness ,this is not the castle where everything is given to you at whim and even though you say you would help us, we cannot trust you" the man concluded . As soon as he finished speaking, a servant rushed in
" Lord Hrothgar, the elder sends for you " the servant announced
" Why? " Hrothgar asked
" We do not know, but it is urgent "
" Stay here " Hrothgar said to Rian and he left with the servant. Rian took the opportunity to explore the room . There were old papers everywhere, majority containing dark spells. There were three kinds of magic in Ashty, the first was the normal one, pure, kind and the type that Royal sons were given. As time past, some of these sons collaborated with evil and produced the dark magic which the seers now practice with the aid of dark spells . Because some of the seers were descendants of those princes, they had little magic flowing through them and as a result, only few could even cast the spell. The strongest of these three was the blood magic , all powerful, evil . It was used during the era of the living dead ( the time when the dead army invaded Ashty), chaos follows the blood magic and it consumes souls. The spell to invoke the blood magic was in the book of spells, the mastermind of all spells.
" Are they searching for the book of spells? " Rian questioned himself when he saw the painting of the book on the wall.
" Your highness " Hrothgar called " the elder wants to speak with you. Apparently, the universe mist have given him a sign that you were here. He wants to help you at the expense of his life " At this news, Rian was overjoyed. Calmly, he followed Hrothgar who led him to meet the elder .
The place the elder lived in was dimly lit and dusty. The elder was extremely old, he looked well over hundred , he couldn't see properly and spoke slowly.
" Is the prince here? " the elder asked
" Yes my lord " Hrothgar responded
" Very well, you may leave. I need to speak with the prince alone " the elder commanded and Hrothgar did not waste a minute more . When they were alone, the elder said
" You're troubled, aren't you? "
" I am "
" I'm an old man who is well over hundred years so I do not hesitate to help you. Promise this old man that you'll ensure my people live peacefully, freely and not like prisoners " the elder began
" I will " Rian promised
" Here " the old man passed him a stone " it has the name of your lover write in ancient kai. Put your blood in it, if you fail to keep the promise, it'll only affect your lover negatively "
Rian did not bother to think much, he quickly reached for a knife and smeared his blood all over the stone . It was like the stone absorbed the blood, for in the next minute, the blood was not there.
" There is no greater seal than blood ,well done "
" Shall we begin? "
" What is her name? "
