Ellen thought, I haven't seen Jamie for many days since we parted at the hospital last time.
I didn't think he'd give up that easily, but he never came to me after that.
Is he so easily provoked?
That would be so boring. That would be utterly boring.
I still need him. I can't afford to make him lose his interest in me so quickly.
Ellen smiled and said, "I'm going home."
Jamie looked at her and smiled, "If you don't want me to get down and carry you up, get in."
There was a small dimple on the left corner of his lips, which would show up when he smiled. Yet it was so imperceptible that one would miss it without looking carefully.
Ellen was a little dazed. It came to her that she used to like seeing him smile.
When he smiled, the dimple would make him look both shy and handsome.
The dimple that used to symbolize his shyness was now tainted by his bit of evilness.
