Chapter 24 - Where Our Blue Is

"F-FINE!!" Athra screams. "I'LL TELL YOU! J-JUST DON"T KILL ME!!" I roll my eyes, sighing. This was getting INSANELY old. "Just spit it out." Athra takes a deep beath, trying to calm herself. "O-okay. I sent her to the Central Tower- its about a twenty minute walk to the west. That's where she was supposed to go to be prepared to be re-deployed to the Valkyries." I ponder this. "Valkyries...you said that before. What exactly is that?" Athra flinches upon hearing me speak. Hehe...I'm strong now. "The Valkyries are a group of female felons of great strength that are recruited as assassins." I cock my head to the side. "What happens to the guys...?" Athra laughs. "We send them to...'THE GUY' of course."

"The Guy?"

"The Guy."

I incinerate her head. Her body falls limp to the ground, and honestly, knowing I did that, I can die peacefully now. I look back to the others. "Lets go get Oiran back so I can leave this place."

Athra's fucking stupid. She had told us that the Central Tower was twenty minutes away in the west- and that couldn't have been more wrong. when hearing the word Central Tower, I had immediately known which building he was talking about. One: it was in the south, and Two: WE HAD BEEN WALKING FOR THREE FUVKING HOURS!! I mean, by NOW we were pretty close, but the journey to get here was by no means pleasant.

Shinimaru put his hand on my shoulder. i turned to look at him. "What?" He gestured to the tower. "Did you...did you see that?" I turn my head, puzzled. "See what?" Shinimaru shakes his head in disbelief. "that flash earlier- above the tower." I shake my head. "Might wanna check your head bro."

After making out with- killing some more guards, we enter the Central Tower. Within it was a pitch-black interior that shot straight up into the sky and spiraling up to the top was a winding and bending staircase. I stare up at this staircase with dread.

"Do we have to go up... All of those..?"

Shinimaru pats my shoulder, the same look of dread on his face. "Yeah..."

No matter how many stairs we scaled, we never really seemed to make any progress-probably because this tower was f**king huge, but I digress. I look at the rest of the group, all of them equally as tired. It has gotten harder to breathe the farther up we got as well-

FWUMP

Siken fell to the ground-or the stairs I guess- coughing up blood. I stop, walking back to him- I fall as well. My lungs were on fire, this sort of overwhelming tiredness rendering me incapable of movement. Shinimaru rushes toward me, only to fall as well, along with Gin.

"What the hell..." I mutter. I look around, and there was this red mist floating everywhere, and that must be what's doing this to us.

"Huh," I hear a voice say from above. "Didn't expect you to make it here that quickly-did Athra not give you any semblance of a challenge?" I look up to where the voice is coming from, and shrouded in the mist, was a man. He were black drawstring utility pants over a red and black varsity jacket, and on his face, he wore a gas mask.

"It seems Athra did hold up her part though-she led you here."

"OH FUCK HER-" I can only manage to get out a part of my sentence before I'm kicked in the stomach. He looks down at be with dead eyes. "Dead men can't speak."

I look up at him, smiling. "Then shut your fucking mouth!" I discharge a wave of electricity, parting the mist around me, and charge my whole body with electricity, dispelling it from me. I stand up keeping my eyes locked on his. Everyone else was still incapacitated, but-

More footsteps.

I see the man freeze in fear as he sends to recognize these sounds. Another figure comes into view, a figure that I recognize as well. The girl who had almost killed Oiran in the first. The girl who had almost killed all of us on Garuda-

"Aurelia," The man says. He stands at attention add if she were a some sort of royalty. Aurelia walks past the man, not paying him any mind. "Kibaku..." She says. " We're supposed to bring them back alive, remember? This gas of yours would've finished then off in minutes."

Aurelia places her hands on the others, who resist, but to no avail, seeing as they're at the brink of death. A purple light emanates from her hands as she touches them, and as she does this- they stand.

"What the hell?" Shinimaru says as he stands up, stretching his arms. Had she.. Healed them?

"Don't get it twisted, boy. I'm merely doing this so that they are in peak condition for experimentation." Aurelia says. My hair sparks with electricity. "Don't worry," I say, walking toward her. " I would never think of you as an ally." She smiles. "Kibaku!" She yells. Kibaku snaps to attention once more. "Yes ma'am?" Aurelia unsheathes her Naginata blade. " Take care of these ones," She twirls the blade in her hand as she walks towards me. "I want this one to myself."
