Chereads / Isekai'd to Another World With a Loaf of Bread / Chapter 11 - Shinimaru Chronicles

Chapter 11 - Shinimaru Chronicles

Shinimaru was frozen. Flies buzzed above the carcasses of his parents, creating a stagnant hum in the dimly lit room. The blood- covered body of his older sister loomed over the body of their mother and father. Her face slowly turned to Shinimaru, revealing her wicked, toothy grin.

Two years later

It had happened two years ago. His drunken parents had come home with a gun, and attempted to kill both him and his sister- but Frivia was faster than them, killing them both with a butcher knife. They had nobody else to take care of them, and Frivia had taken charge. His older sister tugged at his hand, dragging him along. They currently walked the streets of Neo City. " You're nothing but a burden." She hissed at him.

He hung his head low. " S-sorry."

" Whatever- just get ready to use those flames of yours."

Shinimaru nodded, and continued to walk behind her. They eventually came upon a large, fancy looking building. Drawing the sword at her side, Frivia looked over to Shinimaru, who nodded.

Kass Faku sat at his reception desk, filing through papers. It had been a busy day at the casino, what with it being the weekend, so he had so far had to deal with several drunks, two of which were armed-

DING

The door opened. Behind it stood a boy of probably fourteen, and a girl of around eighteen- who held a sword in her right hand. Probably another drunk, he thought. He grabbed the phone to his left-

THWUNK

The flying sword lodged itself in the jugular of the man at the desk, blood spraying outward from his neck as if it was a faucet. Frivia walked to retrieve her sword. " You could've helped." Shinimaru flinched, and apologized. The alarm sounded in the building, sending a sharp siren noise through the construct. Security guards came swarming in through the doors lining the sides of the lobby. The siblings stood back to back, before lunging forward. Launching herself into the air, Frivias eyes scanned the area as fast as you could blink. As they landed, she swept the ground with her sword, dismembering the feet from the men in suits. Their screams and yells echoed in the room as she slaughtered more and more and more.

Shinimaru dodged backwards, avoiding a club strike, before pressing his hand against the ground, setting the entire half of the room alight with green flames.

The whoosh of another strike alerted Shinimaru, who grabbed the bat, turning it to ash, before slamming his flaming fist into the man's abdomen. Dodging and weaving, Frivia remained untouched. Avoiding the slash of a sword, she lodged her own into the stomach of the assaulter. Swaying to the left, she dodged a punch, before slicing two more guards in half. Blood sprayed everywhere.

" Kehahahahahaha!!!"

Shinimaru broke into a cold sweat, this laugh sent every fight or flight instinct in his body into panic. Frivia had killed everyone on her side. She sheathed her sword. " Behind you."

Shinimaru outstretched his hand backwards, making contact with the head of a man who screamed. " PLEASE!! PLEASE DON'T!!" Shinimarus face grew pale. He looked over to his sister, but was met by the soul-killing blank eyes of Frivia. He hung his head, before setting the man's on fire. He writhed and screamed as the inferno engulfed him. Shinimaru stifled a sob, before dropping his charred remains to the ground. Frivia looked away, walking towards the doors leading to the elevator. She wiped blood from her face. " Our goal is to kill the CEO. He'll most likely be heavily guarded, so stay alert." Shinimaru shakily nodded, and followed behind her.

  DING

The second the door of the elevator opened, Frivia lept out of the chamber, wrapping her legs around one of the guards necks, before spinning and snapping his neck. Landing on the ground, Frivia launched back into her high speed fighting style. Shinimaru held his right hand up, making a finger gun, before unleashing a flurry of green, flaming bullets- taking out a good quarter of the guards.

A guard to his left swung his sword, and quickly Shinimaru held out his hand, heating it to an extent that it melted the blade. The man shakily stumbled back, before he- and a smattering of other guards- were engulfed in green flame.

" GAAAAH!!"

This feminine scream echoed through the hallway.

It was Frivia.

Shinimaru's head swung towards her direction, and observed the scene of his sister being held by the throat, choking. The man holding her was surrounded by other guards. There was no way that he could make it-

RIIIP!

The sickening noise sent a chill down Shinimarus spine. Frivia had ripped a chunk of flesh from the guard's neck. Blood erupted from the gash that she had ripped. This sudden event didn't halt the flow of guards swarming her however. She spat out the bloody chunk of flesh at one of them, disorienting him before she slit open his stomach. She leapt up into the air, orienting herself so that she would fall on her head when she fell- but midair…she spun as if a spinning top, sword outstretched, beheading the rest of the guards. Blood sprayed everywhere as Frivia oriented herself right again, landing on her feet.

Shinimaru walked toward his sister- the guards now being defeated, and together, they walked toward the door marked, CEO.

K-KRASH

The door came crashing down, now reduced to splinters. Dust swirled and immolated, obstructing Tom Vusha's view of whoever had done this. He had heard the alarms go off, but he hadn't-

SHLUNK

The blade slashed through his head, thick, red blood mixed with the pink brain membrane splashing everywhere. Shinimaru looked at his sister.

" Sh-shouldn't you have kept the head intact?"

She whipped her head around, her cold stare freezing him in place. From her black cargo bag, Frivia retrieves a large potato bag, before shoving the business man's body into it- the blood dying it a sickening crimson color.

This work used to petrify Shinimaru- and frankly, it still did, but he had slowly grown more numb to the gruesome sights. He had been doing this for two years in fact. Soon after killing her parents, Frivia had soon discovered her innate talent for killing, and would later find out how well it paid.

For each large-scale assassination, she was paid roughly ten thousand gold, but none of this was shared with Shinimaru. Frivia had droves of designer clothes and shoes, but Shinimaru was left with her modified scraps.

As they walked down the streets of Neo City, everything seemed so serene.

How could people be happy?

Could they not see what was happening?

Did they not understand what measures had to be taken for their peace?

These thoughts plagued Shinimaru's head, and this was not the first time. He had tried telling Frivia- but she had laughed at him. The closest person he had to a friend was Kento Shiva, who said that he was from a place called Bangladesh. Shinimaru had no idea where this place was, but it had to be better than this hell; and besides, Kento had disappeared a while back.

Shinimaru hadn't realized it yet, but he had been lagging behind.

" Hey!" Frivia snarled. " If you can't keep up, you won't get fed!"

Shinimaru nodded, and broke into a speed walk. " We've got to go meet Vash at the bar to get our cash."

" Hey-hey sister?"

" Whatta ya want?!"

Shinimaru flinched. " Why d-do we have to do this?"

" Violence is the only pathway to peace."

The creak of the rickety bar door opening echoed through the alleyway. Frivia stepped into the door, closely followed by Shinimaru. Sprawling out before them, was a fairly medium sized night club, swarming with drunks, and criminals. Frivia moved forward, a set goal in mind- as her little brother did his best not to get lost in the swarm.

Abruptly, Frivia came to a stop, shoving someone off of a barstool, and sitting down. The man next to her let out a chuckle. He was an older man of about fifty, and wore a black, neat business suit. He spoke, gesturing to the blood-stained potato bag. " I see you've brought the package." Frivia nodded. " You got the money, old man?"

The man dug in his blazer pocket, before pulling out a sizable bag of coins, platinum and gold alike. Frivia grinned, grabbing the bag, and shoving the corpse bag over to the man. Blood smeared on his jacket.

" Okay…this only cost ten thousand platinum…" He glared at Frivia. " It's fine…" Frivia however, was not paying attention, and had already started walking out of the bar.

Shinimaru did his best to keep up, trying to match his pace to hers. She turned back to her brother. " What're you doing following me, huh? I'm goin' to the casino." It was true. No matter how much money she made from any mission, she always blew at least half of it at the casino. Shinimaru could never follow, however, not being old enough to go in the casino.

Shinimaru's expression dropped to an even lower level of sorrow. He turned away from his sister, and began to walk home. It was raining heavier than normal today. As far as anyone could remember, there was never a day in Neo City that it didn't rain. It got to such a degree, that people began to call it, " The City Forsaken by The Sun," and it had become an enormous tourist trap.

Rounding the corner, Shinimaru stepped up onto the apartment building porch, and opened the door. Passing by the rows and rows of rooms, before coming upon an elevator door. Stepping in, he pressed a few buttons, and ascended to the fifteenth floor. As he came upon his familiar apartment door, Shinimaru fished in his pocket, rummaging around, before pulling out a ring of keys. After fumbling for a while, Shinimaru unlocked the door- and was immediately hit by the sharp smell of Frivia's expensive perfumes. Stepping around the droves of unopened designer clothes bags, Shinimaru was finally able to make it to the couch.

The apartment only had one bedroom, and it was Frivia's. The apartment was cold and dark, as Frivia hadn't spent any money on lighting OR heat. Shiniamru scrunched up, trying to conserve as much heat as possible as his eyelids grew heavy.

" HELL YEAH!!" The girl's cry of victory echoed through the casino. The girl known as Frivia had yet to lose tonight- getting jackpots on every game she touched. She had no idea how she was doing this- but all she knew was that her pockets would be more than full by the end of the night. A man in a long trench coat gestured over to her.

" Think she's cheating?" He said to another cloaked man. The other man nodded. " She's gotta be doing something…"

At this point, she was starting to attract casino staff, who were beginning to approach her. One of them put his hand on her shoulder. " Excuse me, miss?" Her head whipped around, her cold stare boring a hole in his soul. She shoved him away. " Get the hell off me."

The man fell to the ground, stirring up a reaction in the casino.

More casino staff approached, now grabbing Frivia by her arms, apprehending her. " Hey! The fuck are you doing?! HEY!" One of the staff spoke. " You assaulted a staff member. You won't be allowed back in this casino." Frivia struggled.

" I didn't even touch him!!" She squirmed even more- and people around her began to…faint?

" I'LL KILL YOU!!"

Suddenly, the people who had fainted all abruptly snapped up from their trance, and charged the staff. " What the hell did you just do?!?!" One of the staff screamed, before jerking to the side, being flung into the swarm. The other wasn't close behind, being dragged into the mob. Their screams and spasms slowly blended into the background of all the others, as Frivia looked around, confused. Her confusion slowly grew into a wicked grin as her sharp, serrated canines poked out from under her lip.

Frivia turned to the door, and pointed her finger out to the city. Her aura flared around her, in a burning white flame. The enormous mob of zombies raced forward, bursting through the glass of the casino's double-doors. The girl stood there, laughing, before staring up at the enormous castle tower at the center of the city, seeming to size it up, and then laughing even louder.

The loud blare of sirens rang aloud at disproportionate levels of volume, causing Shinimaru, and everyone else in the city, to jolt awake. Shinimaru groggily stood up, looking around frantically.

The sirens? He thought. Those only sound when-

A jolt of realization struck in his mind. Shinimaru couldn't describe the feeling- but he felt Frivia. Not just at one point, but everywhere. He didn't know why, but he knew this was Frivia. Shinimaru stood, up, looking out the window, and saw droves and droves of raging mobs. These masses radiated the same energy he had felt when he had woke up. He sprang up out of bed, and walked toward the window- before jumping out of it, glass shattering around him.

He would save his sister.

King and queen Phosphorus stood huddled in a corner, shielding their child- a baby girl- from the noise of the violence outside. The baby quivered and cried.

Queen Phosphorus cradled and swayed the baby in her arms. " It will be okay." She said, shakily. " It will all be okay-"

BANG

The sound echoed in the throne room, creating a deafening yell of a noise. The bullet pierced through the skull of the queen, blood spraying as if it were a sprinkler as it spewed from the hole. The baby burst into a violent sob. The king recoiled, as he stared at the man who did this. He looked like a normal person- except for one thing.

His eyes were bone-white.

Behind him, was a mob of even more endless droves of these blank-eyed people. The king shuffled backwards, struggling to escape. " P-please!! DON-"

BANG

More blood.

More crying.

The man aimed the gun at the infant, before he fell limp. From behind him, emerged a blonde woman- Frivia. " Now now…we won't be killing children." She walked up to the baby, picking it up in her arms. She observed the room, before her eyes landed on the throne. A wicked grin perked at the side of her mouth. She hopped up, landing on the throne. SHe shifted in the large seat, finding a comfortable position. She finally went still, before looking down at the baby. " I'll raise you so you don't have to live in this hell." She stared into the baby's deep red eyes. " Hell…Jigoku. From this point on, you'll be Jigoku."  The baby reached its hand up to touch her face-

An enormous explosion of green flame erupted downwards from the ceiling, demolishing it. Frivia acted quickly, jumping out of the throne that would be crushed shortly after. Frivia looked angrily at the swirling swarm of flames. " Shinimaru!"

A figure emerged from the mass- within seconds, his flaming fist was inches from her face. " WAI-"

The flames engulfed her face, sending her flying backwards into the wall, creating a crater where she landed. She stood up groggily. Luckily she had sat down the baby next to the throne. Shinimaru cocked his head back, yelling, " FRIVIA!! WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING?!?!" Frivia held her hand out, creating the zai symbol with her fingers. " Control-"

Her consciousness was launched into his mind. It was an endless void of darkness- but about ten feet away was the floating body of Shinimaru.

An evil grin appeared on her face- she stopped. Her entire nervous system froze.

Slowly, he turned around.

A swirling mass of what can only be described as rage loomed above her.

" M̴̱̜͛̅Ǔ̶̧͙̳̮̱̱̳̩͖̒̈́̇Ù̶͔̩̣̗͕̪̥̪̒́Ú̷̡̠̓̿͊͘͘͝U̸̟͂͜U̷̧̧̲̙̣͗̓̆̈́̈̕Ṷ̸̤̂͛̀̀̐̾U̴͈̖̠̼̣̫̮̝͊̉́̄̏́̇̄G̶̻̭̣̥̹͊͒̉͒̍̀̽̎͘H̴̡̢̗̜͕̙̩͍̱͚̎͂̈́̏̈́̒̐͝"

Frivia was launched out of his mindscape- only for her to be lammed by another flaming fist, sending her flying once more. At lightning speeds, Shinimaru outstretched his hand, and a flaming green kitsune erupted from it, as it swirled and accelerated towards Frivia, slamming into her.

Frivia body was scorched at every possible facet- and at this point, was half alive...and that's when he fainted.

Next morning: Shinimaru wakes up without the power from yesterday.

Next year: Shinimaru becomes a royal guard.

Eight years later: Shinimaru escapes under cove of the night, and runs into a man in a One Piece shirt.
