"But we can't leave Ego, he was still alive!" Lisandar said.
Lisandar's urgency echoed in the dimly lit chamber. Ego, barely conscious, strained to open his eyes. The world around him seemed a distorted haze, an unsettling blend of shadows and indistinct shapes. The rest of the team materialized through the fog, Adam and Lisandar at the forefront.
A feeble smile crept across Ego's face as they approached. Adam, equipped with a small knife, attempted to free Ego from the unseen restraints. Frustration etched Adam's features as the blade failed to cut through whatever held Ego captive.
"What is this thing? It seems so soft but won't cut," Adam muttered, persistence evident in his voice as he continued the struggle.
Ego's vision flickered, then plunged into darkness. He retained consciousness, a passive observer in the void, unable to grasp the unfolding events. Distorted screams reverberated, sending shivers down his spine.
