Tears rolling down her cheeks reminded her of the constant humiliations she was suffering in the Dong family. Kneeling before the big statue in the temple, she pleaded to God, like an orphan on the street begging for a coin after a week of not having a meal. It was only after an hour, that Janeth suddenly woke up from her slumber, only to find herself supported by the pew in the Great Yao Temple.
"Aaaargh!!!" She suddenly panicked. Her heart was racing. She was going to have to clearly explain to that Old Madam in the Dong family where she delayed. Picking up her bag, she rushed out of the temple like a mad woman, racing all the way home, without considering dignity.
´After all, who still cared about dignity´, she thought. In the whole Yao village, very people hardly had any shred of respect or her, save for the little kids at the infant school where she taught to earn a salary for the Dong family.
At most, they felt pity for the injustices she was suffering within that damned family. Only a fool like her would withstand. The first wife of the second son of the Dong family couldn't bear the humiliation. She could only drop a three months kid at their door, saving herself from all this humiliation, only to die two weeks later under weird circumstances.
¨You still know when to return, ¨ the old lady´s voice resonated from the ancient-looking castle entrance.
However, Janeth felt that the Old Madam´s tone today sounded a little bit un usual. A bit gentler, only that old habits die hard, since the latter was used to scolding her daughter in law. She always felt that the wife to her son was un suitable, basing on her background and nature.
Janeth looked strong-headed and always gave off an oppressive aura. This had always been a thorn in the old lady´s flesh. However, her tone just now didn't sound that right.
