Rodric stood before the door but did not intend to go inside. He was happy, standing in front of the door and guarding it.
But the door suddenly opened, and the doctor working on Rachael pulled him inside.
"The patient is stable, and we removed all the poison. Now, the only thing left is to wait for the patient to wake up. You can stay here with her and wait for her."
Rodric felt awkward to accept this offer. He wanted to accept it badly, but he did not know if this was something that Rachael would wish to do or not.
"I can see that you are troubled, but it would be better for your friend to have a familiar face with her when she woke up."
The nurse dragged Rodric inside and forced him into the chair. She was gone before Rodric turned toward her. In the end, he was left alone in the room with Rachael.
"Looks like it's you and me left here. Rachael, are you feeling better now? When are you going to wake up?"
