Rodric did not see the big point here. He did not know or care why Adrian was trying to stop him from being friends with Rachael after all this time.
And it was unfair for Adrian to gate him from being friends with whoever he wanted.
'Is Adrian afraid that I will be a better friend to Rachael than I am to Rose? Or is he afraid I will help Rachael get her right as the next Chlorance head and betray my two current friends?'
Thinking of things from this angle helped Rodric understand Adrian better. But he still did not care enough about it to stop his efforts.
"Elder brother, I want to be friends with Rachael, and I invited her. Nothing you say here or do would stop me. Don't worry, I will not become an enemy of yours, but I will not do as you say. I am not a puppet."
