The silence on the floor was much more potent than any noise could have been. There were things that Elias feared, but this situation was not one of them.
The monsters started pouring out of their hiding spot when Elias opened the third door. These monsters looked unafraid and attacked him outright. It was daring of them to do so.
"Hey, look out. The monster is targeting you…"
Edward looked back at the monster aiming for them. He could immediately tell that he was not the target of these monsters. And Elias was not doing anything to save himself either. Its duty of protecting others fell on his shoulders.
That was why Edward quickly took his place before Elias and held his hand out. He intended to draw a barrier and go for a defensive play.
That had been Edward's intention at first. But he did not even get to do anything when Elias held his hand up, and the monsters were spread.
