Adrian did not flinch when Luka's fist connected with the wall behind his back. He refused to show any signs of being dominated by the older man.
In the future, showing hesitation would be seen as fear in front of a superior enemy. It was a matter of maintaining one's self-esteem and position in society.
So Adrian had forced himself to not feel any fear in the presence of more vigorous opponents. This formula he had come up with has worked up until now. Adrian was sure that it would not betray him now.
"Hoh! So, you refuse to bow down and show fear in front of me? I wouldn't say I like your eyes, kids. They look unnatural for your age."
Luka complained, and he did not hold his strike back. He used an old, soft rod that had little impact power.
Adrian could block that attack, but Luka did not stop attacking. He followed his attack patterns with various jabbing moves, causing Luka to stay on the defensive side of the spectrum.
