Rachael had not meant to throw the ball as hard as she did. She even flinched when she felt the ball contact the person before her.
She wanted to apologize instantly, but the angry green eyes did not give her much confidence in being forgiven.
"I'm sorry. That was not very mature of me to do, right? I did not mean to hurt you."
Rachael quickly apologized before she could lose track of these green eyes. Her instincts told her that the owner of these green eyes was her only ticket out of this weird land.
"You are…sorry? This is new. I never knew monsters knew how to speak, much less be sorry."
The owner of those green eyes seemed even more suspicious once he heard Rachael speaking. His voice sounded young and naive, not unlike the various kids Rachael had seen before.
And yet, the wisdom in those green eyes told her otherwise.
