"Looks like your friends decided to abandon you here. It seems like you have finally run out of luck."
Rachael looked around her but was the only one left in the clearing. Her head was spinning from the impact she had suffered.
She would have run away as well if she had not gotten shot. Somehow, despite all odds, one of the gunshots managed to penetrate her leg, and Rachael felt it throbbing.
'Putting pressure on my wound is likely not a good idea. It doesn't look as if the bullet has hit anything major in my leg. But it was too early to say anything about it.'
Even though it hurt, the wound did not look bad enough to kill Rachael. The same could not be said about the man who had inflicted this wound on her.
"So, what are you planning on doing to me? I doubt that I hold any importance to you. After all, the one you were after has already run away."
