Silence filled the place.
Was Gu Shang crazy or what? Did he really think he had what it took to stand against the enforcers?
He might be strong and talented for his age, maybe a prodigy because an Immortal King in his twenties was unheard of, besides he also had terrifying battle prowess, and the battle of the sleeping serpent pass could bear testimony to that fact.
Killing more than a hundred thousand disciples in one move and still having the strength to keep standing on his feet was an achievement to be proud of.
If he was standing Infront of any immortal king, it would've been acceptable to say that. Everyone there knew Gu Shang was more powerful than the Moonshade Sect ancestor that was why they were preparing for a last stand.
They knew their ancestors was going to be no match for Gu Shang based on the fact that he could decimate a hundred thousand elites with a single move.
But
We were talking about the enforcers here, this were people who stood out even among their peers.
It was said that you could offend an Immortal King and live, but you should never offend an enforcer.
The reason why the disciples of the Moonshade Sect celebrated upon the arrival of the enforcers was because this group of people had unshakable statuses in the hearts of the people in the lower realm.
The enforcers were so powerful to the extent that, they could individually bring down empires on their knees.
An emperor had once offended the alliance by attacking a one star sect after they had gotten a treasure in a mysterious realm.
Two enforcers were sent to avenge the fallen sect and by day break, the royal capital of the kingdom had disappeared.
It had literally disappeared with nothing on that land, there was no witnesses or anything. The whole capital just disappeared out of thin air.
This event had shook the entire realm and established the fear of the alliance in the hearts of the empires in the lower realm.
It was basic knowledge to not offend an enforcer, but Gu Shang had kept disrespecting them from the moment they arrived till now.
There was so much a person could take before they reached their limit and over here was such an example.
Hope glittered in the eyes of the Moonshade Sect leader and ancestor.
No one could see the expressions of the enforcers because of the bamboo hat, but one didn't need brains to tell that they were pissed.
The two enforcers stood there still with their hands in the robes of their arm.
They all knew Gu Shang had to die after seeing how he didn't flinch even a bit to their aura's.
They looked at each other and understood theirselves.
Gu Shang had to die or he would become a threat to the alliance if he was to mature any longer.
He targeting the Moonshade Sect was already enough to tell them that, he wasn't a big fan of sects.
"I don't remember the last time, someone called me weak" One of enforcers said.
"Shall we show them how weak, we are?" The other responded.
Gu Shang stood there and watched them feeling amused, "You guys can piss off, or come at me with whatever you got, I'm here to trample on the weak, so you better move out of the way with your tail between your legs or join the weak on their pitiful last stand" Gu Shang said with a matter of fact tone.
Everybody watched Gu Shang with their mouth open, they really wanted to know what or who was inflating Gu Shang's guts to say those words.
"Very well then.... Let's see who would trample on who?" The enforcers said together.
The blue sky suddenly turned black as black clouds began to cover the sky above the sect grounds.
A silhouette of a roaring beast could be seen within the dark clouds. Day suddenly became night, roars of a beast was heard vibrating through the land.
The ground beneath began to tremble and shake, the spiritual Qi in the area all became diluted with the black substances in the air and began being absorbed by the beast in the sky.
"What going on? I can't move the spiritual Qi around me!
I've lost the connection between the heavens and my spiritual roots!"
The disciples all began to notice the sudden change.
Gu Shang casually took a look around his surrounding unconcerned.
"Ancestor what's going on?" The sect leader asked.
"I've heard there is a pair of enforcers who are brothers, they found a technique in the tomb of an expert several decades ago called,[Reformation Of The Ancestral Beast]
With this technique, they could transform the earth and summon any beast of their choice from the ancient times.
Though the beast is only formed with spiritual Qi, it contains twenty percent of the strength of the actual beast summoned.
The reformed area also make it's impossible for opponents to gather spiritual Qi to defend themselves but becomes a power bank for the summoned beast, they become meat on a chopping board.
So thought the beast might not contain the full strength of the summoned beast, twenty percent is not something regular Immortal Kings can handle"
The ancestor explained whiles looking towards the sky.
"We're all immortal kings, so what's this power I'm feeling.
Why do I feel so defenseless against those two" The ancestor said in admiration.
The immortal king realm was indeed a complex realm.
As the formation of the beast was going on in the sky, the enforcers looked at Gu Shang's direction only to see him frowning.
"Do you feel that? That's fear, only the weak feel it!!" The two of them said together.
Gu Shang stopped the frown and sneered, he was frowning because that beast forming in the sky looked horrible, besides the screeching was annoying.
"Do I look afraid to you?" Gu Shang said with a nonchalant tone as he put his hands behind his back.
Everyone glanced at Gu Shang lost for words to even say.
There really was no such word as humble in Gu Shang dictionary, even when he was facing death, he was doing it so arrogantly.
That was quite admirable to be honest.
A large bird 50 meters tall was formed after a few breathes.
The bird had fiery wings with a long tail resembling a lizard, with scales on its whole body.
The beast looked horrible and frightening at the same time.
All those who saw the beast trembled as they took steps back unconsciously.
The beast had his sight set on Gu Shang the moment it was formed.
It swang it's gigantic wings and roared loudly towards the heavens.
The dark clouds were pushed several meters away.
Gu Shang raised an eyebrow after witnessing this.
"Is this the best you can do?" Gu Shang asked clearly with disdain in his voice.
"No, but we think it'll be enough to take care of you"
After saying that, the two men shouted something in the ancient language agitating the bird.
The best flapped it's wing and swoop down towards Gu Shang with it's claw opened.
Gu Shang removed his hands from his back and pointed two fingers towards the sky.
The four swords hovering around him began to spin madly as they began pointing towards the direction of the fast approaching bird slowly, as if following Gu Shang's direction.
The spinning of the swords became so fast that, the naked eyes could no longer see them again.
The four swords stopped abruptly, but a frightening aura covered the place, lightening started cracking all over the place.
CRACK.... CRACK ..CRACK
The second elder shuddered, this move gave him nightmares, this was the same move Gu Shang used to wipe their disciples out, but now he was repeating it with four swords.
Gu Shang pushed the two fingers he held together forward and at that moment, the swords disappeared.
When they appeared again, they were grinding through the heart of the beast whiles spinning in a circular formation.
The beast roared loudly seemingly in pain.
And then Booooom, it exploded, sending waves of spiritual Qi around the entire territory.
The black clouds disappeared and the sun was back shinning brightly like it had never left.
Silence.
