Bella has been exhausted. She had searched the whole room only to find a lot of maps, a lot of books about the history and geography of land. Books on recipes and she even found parchments filled with faces of girls.
He found a lot of portraits of what looked like his family and many more things she did understand. But none of them looked important to her. She did not take any of those things to her grandmother and revive her position in the coven.
Frustrated, she sat on the bed and grumbled for a long time. After cursing Rafael for hours, her eyes started to feel heavy. The bed was soft and warm and she was exhausted. Though she knew she could not sleep in this room, she knew she could not fight her sleep anymore too. So, she closed her eyes and gave up fighting.
When Rafael entered the room, he found her sleeping on the bed in a sitting posture. She was hugging a cushion while her dress had ridden up to her thighs. The transparent thing was leaving nothing for imagination.
When he walked closer, he heard her whispering something in her sleep. So he leaned closer,
"I.. I love you, mother, father. Do not leave me alone. I.. I am not cursing my body.. It is not cursed." her pleadings were full of pain when he paused.
Was she abandoned by her family because of her hair color? He titled his head and touched the silver of her hair. He hated that color because it represented witches. Witches who had killed his family. Who were waiting to kill him and his army. Yet, when he looked at her silver locks, he did not feel disgust. Something he had never thought, he could bear to look at.
She must have suffered if she was discriminated against because of her hair.
"I am not a demon. I am not cursed." she repeated and when she felt the warmth of his body, she extended her hands and held his arm. She leaned on it as if her life was depending on it.
"Do not leave me. Do not throw me away." she whispered again as she held his arm tightly and pulled him in her arms.
He looked at the girl who had pulled him on the bed. Now he was laying beside her with his arms trapped between her breasts. She was holding it tightly with her both hands and rubbing his hand on her breast while telling him again and again that she was neither cursed, nor she was a demon.
They hide their powers with strange jewels. It gives them an appearance like a human. They have developed those weapons to fool vampires. What if she was one of them? He checked her body only to find a small bracelet in her hands.
His hand hesitated only for a second before pulling that bracelet from her hands and then looked at her with narrowed eyes. The fragrance of witches was full of moonflowers. As if they hang on it the whole night.
The smell should have filled the room when he took out the jewel but it did not happen. Her expression and face did not change at all. She was a witch. But what if she was not one?
He placed the bracelet again on her wrist and pulled his other hand but she did not let go. The moment he forced, she mumbled something and ribbed it further when Rafael sighed.
He could push her away and free his hand at once. But for some reason when he gazed at her sleeping figure, he did not want to do it.
How defenseless she was? How was she caught by those slave traders? Did her family sell her? Many questions started to hurt his chest but he could not ask any of it.
If he tried to know her more, it would show attachment. And he could be attached to anyone, but her. She was here for a reason.
As the reason crossed his mind, he pulled his hand at once and rolled on the bed to reach the other side. Bella frowned and touched the space beside her as if she was trying to find his presence.
When she could not find anything, she mumbled something and turned to sleep on the other side. Rafael stood up and left the room at once. When he reached the door, he found two knights standing there, guarding his room.
"I want you to drag the girl into a carriage and bring her to Mismoire town." when they nodded, he did not leave but stood there confusing the guards.
They looked at him and then at each other when Rafael spoke again.
"Make sure that she did not wake up." he felt their eyes widening at his strange command. His eyes narrowed at the door. It was because of that woman but he could not let his knights know that, "if she would wake up, she would struggle and then.. I will not be able to show her how I burn the witches if I found one.
I want her to witness it." as if the reply had consoled their hearts. They nodded at once with a smile on their faces and went in to drag Bella into a carriage.
Rafael disappeared before they could return. Scarlet frowned when she saw the carriage leaving their palace at once.
She jumped from the roof and landed on the balcony of the first floor. Then she jumped again and landed on the roof of the carriage.
The carriage stopped at once. She rolled and jumped on the ground.
"You are using a carriage to leave because of your slave?" she asked in a sharp voice as she opened the door of the carriage but to her surprise and fury, there was only a guard with a tied slave in the carriage.
"Lady Scarlet, the lord had left a long time ago."
