As soon as I entered the room, with my whole body shaking quite vigorously and my heartbeat sounding, though it was the sound of the war from being hit, without even being told, I jumped the table in front of me, quickly dashing for the kitchen.
The kitchen was my only hope of survival right now. Although I tried to calm myself down, I was really scared.
After all, I was just a 16-year-old teenager with a body build that is worth commenting on. I didn't really have anything else to brag about, except that I am a great sportsman.
But could sport even help me in such a situation? I was really scared. I was so nervous that my hand was shaking as though it had been electrocuted.
My heart was beating so fast that I even started to wonder if it had become a pumping machine. I felt as though my heart was about to jump out of me.
My heart was beating fast, which I knew wasn't a good thing, but I couldn't control myself or my body from not being filled with fear and trepidation.
It wasn't possible; after all, who wouldn't be filled with fear? In fact, if it were some other people in my stand, I'm afraid they wouldn't have been able to easily accept such a fact and would have faced nothing but death.
But knowing that my eyes couldn't deceive me, and the blood and head thrown away, or better still, removed, wasn't deceiving me.
Not to talk of the fact that the strange creature pursued me to this extent. Even with all this, I still tried my best to calm myself down, for I knew this would be one of the greatest factors that would determine my survival.
It would have a great say in whether I survive or not. After some breaths of time, I managed to calm myself down with the thought that only by being calm would I have a chance of survival.
I kept reminding myself. I finally managed to calm myself down as I expected to hear the sound I had been waiting for. And as I expected, I heard the sound that I was expecting.
Creak, creak. The sound of the wooden door being opened. Someone had entered the room.
I took in a deep gulp of saliva. 'Huh,' I couldn't believe it. Can this creature hear my thoughts? I thought with an expression as though I was about to cry.
No, no, definitely not. I must be mistaken, maybe it is nothing but just a coincidence. It can't be that overpowered. I comforted myself. But I knew that if I were wrong and the weird creature could read one's thoughts, I would surely have to descend to hell today.
I wouldn't be able to survive the creature's assault. But I also knew that I should be quite right for the creature couldn't be that overpowered.
And if it was indeed that overpowered, it would have stopped me from coming to my house and could have killed me immediately it saw me since it can basically read my thoughts.
With this thought on my mind, I knew that I was correct. I exhaled lightly as I waited for the strange creature to make its movement.
After some breaths of time, maybe to ascertain where I am, the weird creature started walking towards the kitchen. Weirdly and bizarrely, it would sway to the right and away to the left. If I hadn't been in danger, or if I hadn't known that this was not a movie or so but reality, I would have surely burst into waves of laughter.
But I knew should I burst into a wave of laughter, I wouldn't have a good end. So I forced myself from laughing at such a comical scene.
It was really difficult to do, but the constant threat of death on my head made me successfully stop myself from laughing.
Finally, it reached the kitchen. Just as it was about to enter the kitchen, I suddenly rolled from behind the kitchen's door, appearing right in front of the weird creature.
The creature, seeing me, tried to swipe out with its claw, but I already anticipated that it would do such a thing. Although I wasn't that great, I was still a great sportsman. With a front flip, I jumped 3 meters into the air from my rolling position.
In midair, I raised the knife that I had taken from the knife's space in my house kitchen as I lunged forward, piercing forth.
I pierced forth. Puchi, puchi. The sound of the weird creature's head being pierced rang out. But I didn't dare to heave a sigh of relief or relax. I continued piercing its head. Puchi puchi puchi. Finally, after tens of piercing sounds ringing out, I finally collapsed onto the ground.
I was too weak to even stand up at the moment. One should know that compared to my peers and most people, I could be considered far stronger. At least I could even cut through the thick hide of a camel with a blunt knife. But now, even with a smooth knife, my hand was still feeling the immense pain of piercing the weird creature's head.
One could see how strong the defensive nature of the weird creature was. It was certainly on another level entirely. If not for the knife, I would surely have been killed in that short but dangerous encounter.
I knew that if it wasn't for the various exercises and sports activities that I normally did, I would have had no choice but to be sent to the deepest part of hell. But I knew it was all over. I emerged victorious in a fight for survival. I get to survive; that was all that mattered.
Finally, I can relax, I thought as I was about to close my eyes to rest or even relax for a minute. All these things that had just happened, the man being killed, me being pursued by the weird creature, and finally killing the weird creature had been like a story to me.
I couldn't believe it. It felt as though it was nothing but a fairy tale, which I hoped to wake up from after I slept. But my thought to sleep was awakened by a bright light that shimmered brightly.
I jumped up in fright and caught sight of a round object that suddenly appeared on the corpse of the weird creature.
If I was correct, it came from the creature's stomach, although I wasn't even sure if it indeed came from its stomach since I didn't watch the progress of how it had appeared.
I wanted to leave the round object that had a small size of 1 or so meters. But on second thought, who knew if it would be helpful? I wasn't even sure if this was the only creature of its kind, which I hoped to be the truth, for I couldn't withstand dealing with another creature of such that had been pushing me farther than my limits.
In a simple way, that had be considered as courting death. Which I surely would do, since I valued my life the most.
I took the round object and closely inspected it. I couldn't seem to notice or find anything apart from the fact that the shining core, which was the name I gave the core, had stopped shining after ten breaths of time.
"It seems that I was thinking too much. How can I be so lucky to discover something from a weird creature when I'm not a scientist?" I murmured.
I was about to drop the shining core when I suddenly had a crazy thought, a crazy idea. Hope I won't be turned into a creature like the one I just killed. I thought.
Just as I was about to give up on my thought, I heard the sound of glass shards piercing one's body. And as expected, since I knew no one would come and visit me, at least not by climbing through my house fence, I knew without a doubt that it was the weird creature.
Although I was in the kitchen, I could hear its weird and bizarre voice. It sounded even more bizarre than the earlier one, which made me realize that even among each other, they had stronger ones.
Who cares anyway? I have to survive, I thought as I threw the shining core into my mouth without hesitation.
