When it comes to hurting each other, no one could compare lovers. When Elara opened her eyes again, Cedric was gone. The room was cold and deserted as if she had slept there alone.
The maid was standing in the corner. It made Elara wonder if she had been there all night. Had she witnessed what happened between them? Suddenly she felt irked and glared at her maid.
"Shall I bring your meal, my lady?" the maid offered to quietly make Elara wince.
"There is no need. I will go out," she took off her sheets and stood up, putting her weight on her left foot that had recovered a little. She had not let the right leg feel the weight yet the sharp pain stung her. Her eyes teared but she sucked in a deep breath and kept standing.
The maid looked uneasy about her decision.
