Chapter 3 - LEARN

Understand that you were born naked, having zero idea of anything. The 'n' in human in this context stands for 'nothingness and nakedness'. Gradually, you begin to understand things as a result of learning. That's it, learning. Nothing one has that wasn't given to them, or understands that wasn't taught them. We learn from happenings, personal and people's experiences. Learning is the purpose of attending school.

She (Mahatma Gandhi), completed the previously mentioned statement by saying, '...Learn as if you were to live forever."

Furthermore, let me expatiate on what it means to 'learn.'

LEARN:

*L- Listen. Listeners are good Learners. Everything about nature speaks to us: the rain, trees, sun, moon and stars, soil, and so on. What you see (good or wrong) goes a very long way in changing your perception; what you hear (information) is so powerful that it could save lives (if properly used) or destroy (if misused), even what you smell, and all these are by giving attention to sounds, spectacle (sight) and smell, which involves careful listening.

To 'listen' is to 'look', to 'imbibe', to 'search', to 'think', to 'enquire', and to 'note'.

Virtually everything you are aware about or you can do was as a result of what you saw and heard.

*E- Examine. Learning requires examining.

A portion of the Holy Scriptures in 1 Corinthians 11 states, "But let a man examine himself, and so let him eat of that bread, and drink of that cup." It is very difficult, if not impossible, for one to honestly and thoroughly examine oneself and still fumble when being examined by someone else.

*A- ASCERTAIN. Ascertaining requires discovering, determining, or establishing. All these are a part of the processes of learning. Discovery is the act of finding, revealing, creating and exploring. That was how science and technology came into being. People studied real hard; and gradually they explored and created their ideas into reality, which became what we see today.

*R- Read, Record and Reflect. Readers are Leaders. Am sure you might have heard that, right? Most of the answers we seek in life are written. Don't lose sight of what is written.

*N- Never Stop. Life's challenges are numerous and overwhelming. These challenges tend to bend you, bash on you, beat on you and wanna break you, and when people see you sometimes, they say, "Hey, you have really changed a lot," but most times it is a lot that has actually changed you. You are not the problem, but don't get broken. Never stop fighting back at whatever challenges that come your way, 'cause that's the way to survive in the kind of world in which we live.
