Chapter 67 - Chapter 67: A New Souta Is Born

*Sou*"

Purpura sighed as he stepped out into the room. "Found out now, huh?"

I glared at him. "Gonna rub it in, huh? Why did you keep it a secret too? Why not tell me sooner?"

He sighed. "You didn't believe me in the first place to begin with. What makes you think you would've believed me if I told you before?"

I looked at my cinnamon roll plushie. "Yeah, you're right." I took the plushie and tore it up.

"Hey! What did your roll do to you?" Purpura yelled.

I threw the stuffing unto the floor. "I don't want anything that reminds me of that treasonous Ava."

Purpura sighed as he picked up the stuffing. "Still, making a mess for me to clean up when I just finished." His nose twitched. "Say, why do you smell like Sehun?"

I sniffed myself. The scent of jasmine and cinnamon. A mix of embarrassment and frustration washed over me. I couldn't tell Purpura that I had given myself over to that traitor.

"Maybe it's because I just came from his place," I said.

Purpura raised an eyebrow, a mischievous glint in his eyes. "Oh, so you went to confront him, huh? How did that go? You took a while to come back, so it must've not been pretty."

I sighed, feeling the weight of the situation settling on my shoulders. "It didn't go well. He admitted to everything when I asked. He betrayed me, Purpura."

Purpura's expression softened, and he walked over to me, placing a hand on my shoulder. "I'm sorry, Sou. I know this hurts, but you deserve better than someone who would betray your trust."

I nodded, tears welling up in my eyes once again. "I know, but it still hurts so much."

Purpura pulled me into a hug, offering me comfort in that moment. "I'm here for you, Sou. You don't have to go through this alone."

I sniffled, grateful for his support. "Thank you, Purpura. I don't know what I would do without you."

He smiled softly. "You don't have to worry about that. I'll always be here for you, no matter what."

In that moment, as I leaned into Purpura's embrace, I felt a glimmer of hope. Despite the pain and betrayal, I knew that I had someone by my side who truly cared for me.

"I'm sorry, Purpura."

"For doubting me?"

I nodded as I stood up and walked toward the shower. "Yeah." Although, it wasn't only that. I'd chosen Sehun over him, my soulmate.

I turned on the shower, letting the warm water cascade over my head as I stuck it in, hoping it would wash away the pain.

Purpura followed me into the bathroom, concern etched on his face. "Sou, it's okay. Love can be complicated, and sometimes we make mistakes."

I gulped. "But you were always there for me, Purpura. You've been my rock, my confidant. I should have trusted you."

Purpura stepped closer, his voice gentle. "I know you liked Sehun, and I wanted to support you, even if it meant standing on the sidelines. Although, I couldn't help but act jealous at times. It's no wonder you didn't trust me at first "

I leaned against the shower wall, letting the water soothe my aching heart. "I don't deserve you, Purpura. You've always been there for me, even when I didn't deserve it."

Purpura reached out, cupping my face in his hands. "Don't say that, Sou. You deserve happiness, just like anyone else. And if being with Sehun was what you thought would bring you that happiness, then I wanted to support you."

Tears mingled with the water streaming down my face. "But I was wrong, Purpura. Sehun betrayed me, and I pushed you away."

Purpura's thumbs gently wiped away my tears. "You didn't push me away, Sou. I'm still here, and I always will be. We'll get through this together."

I closed my eyes, feeling the weight of his words sinking in. Purpura had never wavered in his support, even when I had turned my back on him. He had always been there, waiting for me to realize the truth.

"I'm so sorry, Purpura," I whispered, my voice filled with remorse.

Purpura pulled me into a tender embrace, holding me tightly. "There's no need to apologize, Sou. We all make mistakes. What matters now is that we learn from them and move forward."

I clung to him, feeling a sense of solace in his arms. The pain of Sehun's betrayal still lingered, but Purpura 's hug was so full of warmth. A warmth different from that with Sehun. It wasn't as passionate heat, but one that helped plants grow.

"Thanks, Pura."

He grumbled. "I told you not to call me that."

I snickered weakly and let go of him. "Alright. Now, leave. I need to shower." I wanted to get rid of Sehun's scent.

He frowned slightly. "Okay."

I stared at his slender back. Had he figured out what happened between us? I hoped not, but it wasn't all that hard to figure out.

Purpura turned to leave, sensing my need for some space. "Alright, Sou. Take your time. I'll be outside if you need anything."

I nodded, appreciating his understanding, and watched as he left the bathroom. As the door closed behind him, I let out a deep breath, feeling a mix of emotions swirling within me.

I walked over to the shower, the warm steam enveloping me as I stepped inside. The water cascaded over my body, washing away the physical and emotional residue of the past few days. I grabbed the soap and began to scrub myself, hoping that the physical act of cleansing would help clear my mind.

With each stroke, I tried to let go of the pain and betrayal that had consumed me. I focused on the sensation of the water against my skin, the scent of the soap filling the air. I closed my eyes, allowing myself to be present in the moment, to find solace in the simple act of self-care.

As I lathered the soap onto my body, I couldn't help but reflect on the choices I had made. The pain of Sehun's betrayal still lingered, but I knew deep down that I couldn't blame myself entirely. Love can be complicated, and sometimes we make mistakes. I had trusted Sehun, and he had let me down. But I couldn't let that define me.

I rinsed off the soap, feeling a sense of renewal as the water washed away the remnants of my past. I stood there for a moment, the water cascading over me, allowing myself to feel the weight of the situation but also acknowledging that I had the power to move forward.

As I turned off the shower and stepped out, I wrapped a towel around myself and looked at my reflection in the mirror. I saw a person who had been hurt, but also a person who was resilient.

I tied my messy hair up and glared at myself. The old, naive Sou was dead.

As I tied my messy hair up, I glared at my reflection in the mirror. The old, naive Sou was dead, replaced by a burning desire for revenge. Sehun's betrayal had awakened a fierce determination within me, and I couldn't let him get away with what he had done.

I clenched my fists, feeling a surge of anger coursing through my veins. How could he have played with my emotions, manipulated my trust? Ava too.

I walked out of the bathroom, my steps purposeful and filled with resolve. Purpura looked at me, concern etched on his face. "Sou, what's going on? You seem different."

I met his gaze, my eyes filled with determination. "Purpura, I appreciate your support, but right now, I need to do something."

Purpura smiled slightly. "Whatever it is, I hope that I can be of some help."

I nodded. "I'll keep that in mind."

"That said. And I might be hypocritical for saying this, but if it's revenge you're thinking of, then be careful. I don't want it to consume you."

I walked over to the dresser and grabbed my clothes. "Don't worry, I won't." The only ones consumed by it would be that treasonous pair.
