Chapter 50 - Chapter 50: Water Balloon Fight

*Purpura*

We went over to the balloon arena, but it was filled with children.

"Eh, never mind," Sehun said, turning away.

Sou chuckled and ran into the arena.

Sehun spun around and chased after him. "Hey, wait up!"

"You too," I said, chasing after the sadistic prince.

Sehun caught his boyfriend. "I told you to slow down!"

Sou smirked and hit him with a water balloon.

Sehun groaned and let him go.

I chuckled. "This should be interesting."

Sehun wiped the water off of his face and threw two balloons at him, but Sou dodged them.

"Can't catch me!" Sou yelled, running around.

"Hold it, you little brat," Sehun said, grabbing a couple more water balloons.

Sou snickered and dodged his shots. "You can't hit me!"

The kids turned to look at Sou and Sehun.

"Can I join?" A little girl asked, staring up at them.

"Me too," a little boy said.

"And me," another girl said.

"Me three," another boy said.

Sehun smirked. "Sure! Attack the orange-haired guy."

"Hey, that's not fair!" Sou snapped.

The kids began chasing him.

"You'll pay for this, Sehun," Sou growled as he avoided the kids attacks like a pro.

"Wow, he's good," I said, watching.

"I'd be amazed if he actually did lose," Ava said, sighing.

"He's that good?" Rena asked, blinking.

Ava nodded. "When it comes to physical activity, he's very talented."

"Yeah, he was always good at sports and other stuff," Sayuri said, snickering.

I smirked and cracked my fingers. "Well, let's see how he fares against me." I ran into the arena and grabbed some balloons.

"Oh, Purpura's joining in too!" Souta said, grinning.

I threw the balloons at him. He ducked.

"Missed me!" Sou yelled, hitting me with one.

"You won't be so lucky next time," I said, glaring at him.

He turned around and shook his butt at me. "We'll see!"

I growled. "Sehun, let's take him down!"

Sehun smirked and threw his balloons at Sou as the two of us closed in on him.

"Hey, no fair! You teamed up!" Sou said, glaring at us.

I grinned and threw another balloon at him.

Sou growled and hit us with multiple balloons.

The kids threw theirs at him, but he spun around and kicked several ballons into the air, blocking them.

"Wow, he's good," Sehun said, chuckling.

"No kidding," I said. It was like he was fighting an actual battle.

Ava, Sayuri, and Kai all entered the arena.

"This is going to be interesting," Sayuri said, picking up some balloons.

Ava grinned. "Yeah."

Kai nodded.

They joined the kids and attacked Sou, who managed to avoid their assault.

"You'll have to do better than that," Sou said, snickering as he avoided another hit from me.

I gritted my teeth. I was tempted to use my psychic powers, but that would've been unfair.

Sou chuckled. "Giving up already?"

I shook my head. "You wish."

He grinned. "Prove it!"

I growled and attacked him with the balloons again.

Sou threw more balloons at the army of kids and us.

Ava closed in on him from behind. Sou was too focused on us to pay her any attention, although, he had managed to dodge even the balloons coming at him from behind.

Ava smirked and threw a balloon toward the center of Sou's back. He ducked, causing to the balloon to fly and hit me in the center of my abdomen.

She winced.

I sighed. Well, not like she was aiming at me. I would repay her after I dealt with the 'cinnamon roll'.

We kept trying to hit Sou until there were no more water balloons.

Sou smirked. "Seems like I won!"

"I-is the big kid even human?" one of the kids asked.

"Nope," I said, crossing my arms.

"You're not wrong," Sehun said, smiling.

Sou pouted. "Hey, I'm human!"

I smirked. "Well, you won."

He nodded. The next moment, a balloon hit him.

"Eh?" Sou said, blinking. He turned around and saw Kai smiling shyly.

"I-I got you," he said.

Sou sighed. "That was dirty."

"Well, not like no one said one couldn't hit you while you had you guard down," Sayuri said, chuckling. She patted Kai on the back. "Kai's now the Sou Slayer. Uh, Sou Splasher."

Kai laughed slightly.

"So, wanna go back to the splash pad?" Sayuri asked, smiling. "Maybe it has less people now.

"I'm kinda getting hungry," Sou said, shrugging.

I looked down. "We could eat."

"Yay!"

"Where at?" Sehun asked as we walked out to join Sekin and Rena.

"Uh, anywhere's fine with me," Sou said, glancing at his boyfriend.

"You have a preference, Ava?" Sayuri asked, glancing at her own significant other.

"Hmm, how about sushi?" Ava suggested.

"I'm up for that," Sayuri said, smiling.

"Me too," Kai said.

Rena glanced at her boyfriend.

He smiled. "If it's what you want, I'm up for it too."

She smiled. "Thanks."

"I'm fine with it too," I said, glancing at Sou.

"Same," Sehun said, nodding.

"Cool, let's go then," Sou said, running forward.

"Hey! Don't run! You might slip! The bottom of your slippers are all wet!" Ava yelled.

"I know! I'm being careful, mom!" Sou said even as he disappeared into a crowd.

"Stop calling me that!" Ava snapped.

Sehun chuckled. "I'll go after him." He ran ahead, disappearing as well.

Ava sighed. "Does that idiot not realize how dangerous this is?"

"Calm down, Ava," Sayuri said, holding her hand. "Sou is a big kid now, he can handle himself."

"That's not the point. If anything happened to him, I would be responsible, being the most mature one here."

"Ava, you aren't the chaperone," Sekin said, sighing.

Sayuri nodded. "Don't stress yourself out over this, okay?"

Ava frowned. "How can I not when he keeps doing dumb stuff? He's bound to hurt himself beyond repair one day."

"Sou can just use his powers to weaken his fall," I said, shrugging.

"It's not that simple," she grumbled. "What if he falls without time to react, or is caught off guard?"

I glanced at her and sighed. "Well, what are you gonna do? He won't listen. And, if you keep treating him like a kid, he'll never grow up."

Her shoulders slumped.

"Just trust him, okay?" Sayuri said, patting her girlfriend's shoulder.

"But, he's the most irresponsible one here," Ava mumbled, eyes downcast.

"Hey, he managed to drive the boat better than you could, remember?" Sekin said as we moved on from the balloon cage.

Ava crossed her arms and huffed.

I smiled a little. Despite her scolding, she was still very attached to her friends.

Kai snickered.

I glanced at him. "Something wrong?"

"Just thinking that Ava and Souta sort of act like a married couple, with her as the nagging wife."

"D-don't say that. Even the idea of being married to that jerk is enough to give me nightmares."

"Because you'll be worried sick about your husband all the time?" Sayuri asked, snickering.

Ava looked away. "Y-you don't know what you're talking about."

Sayuri put an arm around her. "Sure I do. You're totally the worrying type, Ava. Even with me, you worry more than I would like."

"W-well, that's because you're such a klutz."

Sayuri frowned.

"A-and I want to protect you. Because, I love you."

She blushed and smiled.

Kai frowned.

"Are you alright, Kai?" I asked, glancing at him.

"Y-yeah. I'm fine."

"Let's hurry," Rena said.

Sekin nodded and sped up his rolling of her chair a tad.

I glanced at Kai who kept on frowning. Hopefully, the sushi could cheer him back up. I couldn't help but feel bad for the guy. After all, we were both in the same position. But, maybe our love related fortunes would improve soon. After all, once everyone learned what Sehun and Ava did, he and I would have a chance with Souta and Sayuri respectively.
