Sunday morning and the sun isn't even up. The morning sun glows behind the mountains. Typical morning you would see in Nevada. The phone rings and an old woman with blonde hair grabs her phone to answer.
"Talk to me,"
A man behind the phone with a deep Italian voice.
"Meet us at the casino by 6."
"Where at the casino?" Carolyn said.
"You know where. Just meet us."
Carolyn scoffs. A man walks out of the bathroom slowly fixing his white dress shirt. He pushes up his glasses.
"Alright. I'm coming down."
Carolyn hangs up her phone, Grabs her clutch, and gets up. Oscar walks toward Carolyn.
"Sweetheart?" Oscar said. "Where are you going?"
Carolyn turns around and looks at him aggressively. Oscar starts to shake a bit.
"I'm just going to get breakfast before we leave." Carolyn smiles happily. Oscar looks at her surprised at her response.
"Oh," Oscar said. "Well, if that's the case if the cafe is open then I don't see why not get something to eat before we check out."
"Yeah. I won't be long." Carolyn grabs her small pistol and walks out the door. Oscar looks at her walking out while packing their stuff. Walking out of the elevator to the hotel lobby. One mafia hitman comes and greets her.
"Morning' Mrs. Goodman." Hitman said.
"Please, call me Madame Carolyn," Carolyn demanded. "I don't understand why Michele hasn't told you to call me by that name."
"It's a sign of respect," said the hitman. "Why can't you do the same?"
"I'm a different person than Michele," Carolyn said. "I rather you call me by my first name than my last name."
"Alright."
"Did you guys find the receptionist?"
"Mauricio found her and took care of her."
"Good," Carolyn said. "Let's go get a drink from the bar."
Carolyn and the hitman walk to the bar. The bartender looks at them while cleaning the cups from earlier.
"Can I get you guys something to drink?" The bartender said.
"Let me get a mai tai on the rocks, please," Carolyn said while sliding a dollar as a tip for the bartender.
"Alright." The bartender grabs a clean martini cup and makes the mai tai without looking at the dollar tip. Carolyn looks at the hitman and gives him a signal. The hitman nods at her and grabs a knife that slid out his sleeve. The bartender gives her the drink. The hitman stabs the bartender's hand without hesitation before touching the dollar tip. Screaming in agony, Carolyn grabs her pistol and aims it at his head.
"Want to tell me why you guys want to charge me extra?"
"It's hotel policy, the owner said to raise the prices for resort fees!"
"The owner knows that when I'm here, NOBODY, and I mean NOBODY SHOULD CHARGE ME EXTRA FOR SHIT!" Carolyn exclaimed.
"It's new management..."
"I don't believe you."
"Seriously." the bartender said, groaning in pain.
"You better tell me where the owner is or I'll swear to god I WILL BLOW YOUR HEAD OFF!"
"Or what? How can you blow my head off with that small ass pistol?"
Carolyn sips her mai tai and smirks. "It may be small but can be destructive."
"Tell her where's the owner?" said the hitman while turning the knife deeper in the bartender's hand.
"She isn't here." The bartender said. The hitman continues to carve the knife in his hand. "OK SHE'S HERE BUT I DON'T KNOW WHERE SHE IS!"
Carolyn sighs. "One more lie out of you–" she stops. "You know what. I heard enough. Slit his throat." She finishes her drink and shoots the bartender in the head three times. The hitman grabs the knife out of the guy's hand, jumps over the counter, and cuts the bartender's throat. Carolyn leaves the casino. Oscar looks at Carolyn walking towards him in the parking lot.
"What happened? You took so long to get out?" Oscar said.
"Nothing happened. The line was so long, I had to find another cafe to get breakfast."
"Oh–" Oscar said. "Well, I just happened to stop by at a cafe and got some bagels on the road."
"Good," Carolyn said. "Now, can we go back to Vegas?"
"Why are you in such a rush?" Oscar asked.
"I have a city to run, thank you!" Carolyn gets in the car. Oscar sighs and gets in the car with her and drives off back to Vegas.
