Chapter 6 - Resilience Amidst Darkness

Baris snapped out of his reverie when a sharp pain seared through his hand; his cigarette had burned down to his fingers. Quickly discarding the smoldering remains in the ashtray, he rose and made his way to the bathroom, simmering with anger as he dwelled on his past and his growing disdain for women.

Inside the bathroom, he shed his clothes and slipped into the bathtub, closing his eyes as the soothing water enveloped him. After soaking for half an hour, he emerged, feeling refreshed and at ease, his wet hair cascading down his back as he donned a bathrobe.

While drying his hair in the dressing room, his thoughts drifted to the woman he had been contemplating. He felt an urge to see her again but hesitated, opting instead to view her through his phone connected to the house's CCTV system, which allowed him to monitor every corner of his residence.

What he witnessed on the screen shocked him. "Shit," he muttered, leaping to his feet and rushing to the door. Inside his house, the girl was attempting to take her own life. He couldn't comprehend her actions. She had appeared brave when confronting his assistant earlier, and now she was trying to hang herself. What was she thinking?

Meanwhile,in the guest room:

"My name is Joy, and I'm 28 years old from Kenya. I found myself in a nightmarish situation – kidnapped here in turkey by a man who had initially seemed angelic but revealed a sinister side. After he left the room, his associates entered, instructing me to get ready for something I couldn't fathom.

Two women guided me to a luxurious bathroom. When I offered to take care of myself, they politely declined, explaining the need to wash, shave, style my hair, apply makeup, and dress me according to their standards. Although I had always taken pride in my hygiene, makeup was uncharted territory.

After they completed their work, they handed me a white velvet dress from Zara, which exposed more of my body than I was comfortable with. Dread settled in as they shared the gruesome fate that awaited me: pleasing their boss tonight, followed by a return to my previous life the next day. The man's chilling words, "Once our boss is finished with you, we will have a feast," echoed in my mind, leaving me trembling with fear.

As the women departed to let me prepare, the horrifying prospect of facing such brutality overwhelmed me. I couldn't bear the thought and decided that I would rather die than endure the impending ordeal. Gathering the curtain ropes, I secured them around my neck, ready to end my suffering.

But just as I was about to release myself, the doors burst open."And I thought you were brave, what a shame," a voice pierced the air, both calm and menacing. I turned to see the same beautiful man from earlier, now wearing a robe with his loose, wet hair cascading down his shoulders and back.

I froze once more as he approached and gently opened the rope from around my neck. The horrifying realization that he intended to rape me flooded my mind, and I couldn't contain my tears. I dropped to my knees, desperation taking over. "Please, please don't rape me, I'm begging you. You can end my life and dispose of my body, but don't condemn me to a lifetime of shame," I pleaded with all the sincerity in my heart, for there seemed to be no other recourse.

"Hey, hey, stop crying," he said, his tone surprisingly gentle. He grasped my trembling arms and helped me to my feet before drawing me into an embrace. His strong arms held me close, and his hand moved soothingly across my back. "Stop crying, don't be scared. I won't rape you. That's not what I want from you," he assured me, his voice now softer and deeper.

It was a peculiar moment because, in some inexplicable way, I felt safe. Safer than I had ever felt before. Overwhelmed by this strange mixture of emotions, I opened my arms and hugged him back.
