Auston followed Alise's voice and found her standing in front of a magnificent, floor-to-ceiling window that overlooked a sprawling garden. While the view was breathtaking, Alise's excitement was focused on an exquisite bird feeder, attracting a multitude of birds.
Alise turned toward Auston with a radiant smile and exclaimed, "Isn't this beautiful? I love birds!" Her excitement was contagious, and she quickly returned her attention back to the feather babies.
Auston, looking at her, found himself completely captivated by Alise's infectious enthusiasm, finding her personality even more charming. He nodded and softly mumbled, "Yeah, it's beautiful," he said while he gazed at her, his eyes fixated on her for a moment.
When he snapped out of it, he couldn't quite understand why he was looking at her in this way. They had only been married for a day, yet he felt a peculiar sensation coursing through him.
