Chapter 18 - Balcony Escape

As they exchanged a knowing look, he securely grasped the balcony railing. With his tall, solid build, he swung one leg over the side and started climbing down.

Alise couldn't help but watch him intently as he went down, her gaze naturally drawn to his physique. She caught herself thinking, "Mmh," but then realized it was a bit inappropriate to stare at his body that way.

His muscles flexed with each precise step, revealing his physical prowess as he carefully reached the ground.

He extended his hand toward Alise, silently indicating that it was now her turn to make her way down.

Following his lead, she inched her way over the balcony rail, However, her situation was a bit more challenging since she was still wearing her wedding dress. She inched her way over the balcony rail, her fingers tightly gripping the metal. Her heart raced as she gingerly descended, one hand after the other her movements calculated and cautious.

As he observed her precarious position, a chuckle slipped up, and he couldn't help but be filled with amusement. She heard his laughter and, in a hushed tone, she called out, "Don't just laugh, grab me!"

He smiled and reached for her waist, taking in the curves and softness of her form. His touch unintentionally turned into a gentle squeeze.

Which led her to quickly interrupt, saying, "Hey, don't do that," her embarrassment evident. He promptly apologized, even though he had taken a liking to it he compared her waist to a squishy ball.

She requested to be lowered, and he complied by gently letting her down. His strong grip had provided her with a sense of security, and thanks to his robust physique, she had complete trust in him. Feeling secure in his hold, she descended safely to the ground.

Both of them cast a quick look back at the balcony they had just descended from, their hearts pounding with the thrill of the escape. They hurried to the car, Alise clutching her dress to prevent it from snagging on anything while they run ,as they reached their getaway vehicle.

Once inside the comfortable cocoon of the car, The engine roared to life, and Auston simply said, "To my place," The driver responded with a simple, "Yes, Mr. Myers," they sped away.

Alise thought, "He must be his personal driver if he knows where his house is without needing directions.

As they continued down the road, with the city lights casting colorful streaks across the car window, Alise remarked, "I can't wait to change out of this Damn dress."

Auston agreed, replying, "I know what you mean" as he started to undo his collar.

Alise glanced at him from the corner of her eye, discreetly observing him. As he undid his collar, He let out a sigh of relief while settling into his seat, and in this relaxed position, his physique became more apparent.

His abs subtly tugged at his shirt, his legs were casually spread, and his arms dangled down as he unbuttoned his sleeves, Rolling them up to release the tension, he revealed his forearms.

He looked up, catching her side-eye. In that brief moment, she quickly averted her gaze and said, "You just looked so relaxed."

She then reached back and pointed to the zipper on her dress, adding, "I wish I could unzip mine."

Her seemingly innocent comment caused his thoughts to briefly stray. As he stared at her, noticing the sculpted back she revealed while pointing to the zipper, his thoughts wandered even further. He quickly reprimanded himself, thinking, "What are you doing? You can't be thinking like this."

With a conscious effort to remain respectful, he shifted his gaze and said, "We'll be arriving shortly."

She replied, "Yeah, I can't wait." He felt relieved that she hadn't noticed his inappropriate gaze just moments ago.

As the car continued on, she yawned, clearly exhausted from the long day. All she wanted was to reach her destination, take a much-needed shower to feel refreshed, and then get some sleep.

In reality, she couldn't help but think about how wonderful it would be to have a week-long rest.

As she contemplated the idea of a week-long sleep, she nodded off, her head gently bobbing. She found a comfortable spot, resting her head on the door, and drifted off to sleep.

Noticing her sudden nap, he couldn't resist the drowsiness either and crossed his arms, closing his eyes as well.

About 15 minutes later, the car pulled up, and the driver called out, "Mr. Myers, Mr. Myers," signaling their arrival.

He woke up, blinking as he surveyed his surroundings. "Ahh, we're here," he muttered in acknowledgment and expressed his gratitude to the driver. He then turned toward Alise and gave her a gentle tap to wake her.

In a groggy and somewhat grumpy voice, she responded, "Huh, huh? Yeah? What?"

He informed her, "We've arrived."

She fully opened her eyes, letting out a groggy "Yeah," still feeling a bit drowsy. Alise opened the car door and stepped out onto the gravel driveway.

She stretched her arms above her head to shake off the remaining drowsiness. However, in her half-awake state, she stumbled back a bit, managing to catch her balance just in time and avoid falling.

As Alise steadied herself, Auston asked if she was alright, and she replied, "Yeah." Despite the chilly air nipping at her face, she waited for him, and together, they continued their walk towards the entrance of the condo complex.

As Alise and Auston entered the condo, Alise glanced around, thinking about her immediate needs. Without hesitation, she asked, "Where's the bathroom?"

Auston replied, "Sure, you'll find the bathroom on the left side of the hallway, or if you prefer, there's another one upstairs," providing Alise with practical options for her convenience in using the bathroom.

She turned back and asked, "Which one is the best one?" with a cheeky smile, her desire evident for the most relaxing shower.

As she said that, he thought about the relaxing shower he wanted and replied, "The one on the left."

However, she playfully disagreed, replying, "I don't think so. When you said that, you were looking upstairs," with a mischievous grin.

Her playful response implied that she thought he might be trying to lead her to a different bathroom, perhaps to keep the best one for himself.

They both looked at each other, briefly checked the stairs, and then locked eyes again, silently weighing whether to rush to their favored bathroom or be courteous and let the other have it.
