Chapter 2: A New Beginning

Clark knew he had been reincarnated the moment he laid eyes on his surroundings. The room was lit by candles, old-fashioned robes hung on the walls, and the language being spoken was unlike any he had encountered in his previous life, where he had mastered every known language. The vibes he felt were straight out of a manga he had read. Though he knew he could speak, he remained silent, listening intently to decipher his new mother's language by paying close attention to repetitive words and sentence lengths.

After about 20 minutes of concentration, he began to understand the language of this unfamiliar world.

His Mom: "Look at his tiny feet and his little nose!"

His dad: "Something's bothering me, Carlarlia."

Carlarlia: "What is it, Khlieo? There's nothing wrong with our son."

Khlieo: "He didn't even cry?"

Carlarlia: "It means our baby is strong enough to handle himself. Besides, we are so lucky that our baby turned out fine." Carlarlia wiped away a tear. "I'm so happy that he didn't die before he came out." Carlarlia had experienced pregnancies before, but all three had ended in tragedy. She had nearly lost hope.

Khlieo: "You're right. What should we name him?" Khlieo asked, both of them struggling to come up with a unique name. It was then that Clark decided to join the conversation, uttering just a few letters in their native language.

Clark: "C - L - A - R - K."

Both of his parents were in shock hearing their baby speak. Their emotions were mixed, and they could hardly believe what had just happened.

Khlieo: "I swear I heard our son speak some letters. I'm not crazy, right?"

Carlarlia: "Yes! I heard that too. Um, did you say something, baby?"

Clark: "C-L-A-R-K."

Carlarlia: "Clark? What is Clark, baby?" Carlarlia asked with a tone of curiosity.

Khlieo: "I think he wants to be called Clark."

Carlarlia: "Is that so?" She asked, still bewildered. Clark gave them a thumbs-up, leaving his parents puzzled as they didn't understand the gesture.

As Clark looked around his new surroundings, he realized he was in a different era, one where electricity had not yet been discovered. His parents observed him with confusion as he examined the room before coming to a halt.

Carlarlia: "What do you think of your new home, Clark? It's wonderful, isn't it?" Carlarlia asked.

Khlieo: "I bet you're happy to be born, especially with such a handsome father," Khlieo proudly remarked.

Clark remained motionless, lost in thought.

Clark: (Am I truly happy with this outcome? Do I still have the motivation to live on?) Clark pondered.

While Clark was lost in thought, his parents grew worried that something might be wrong with their child. They wondered if he was cursed by a demon or blessed by the divines.

Clark shifted his gaze, looking at both of his parents.

Clark: (That's right. I was questioning myself before I died. Perhaps the gods have given me a chance to discover true happiness. After all, how can I enjoy myself without electricity or gadgets?) Clark overanalyzed.

Clark smiled at his parents and began to giggle. His parents were taken aback, finding it incredibly endearing. They both hugged Clark, and their doubts started to dissipate as they realized that whether he was cursed or blessed, Clark was still their child, their treasure.
