Evelyn was surprised to see that there were no bodies lying in the road or off to the side; she wondered what George had done to them, but she decided it was better for her not to know.
"What are you thinking about so seriously?" Micah asked.
"I was just surprised that we did not see any bodies," Evelyn admitted.
Micah laughed, "don't worry about that. George took good care of them."
Evelyn gulped. She knew that George was a powerful vampire and she knew that he could handle himself, but she was surprised to not find any bodies. She had expected to see them lying in the road or off to the side, but there were barely any signs of a struggle. She never would have known if she had not heard the commotion and was told what had transpired.
"You never did tell me why you did not join the coven like your sister had," Micah said.
