Evelyn tried her hardest to block out the thoughts. After she got used to the constant stream of thoughts it became easier to block them out. She slowly got more comfortable being around all the people, but there were still some thoughts that were louder than others.
"How are you feeling?" George asked as they passed a stand that was selling a fried dough.
Evelyn paused in front of the stand and her mouth watered at the sight of the golden brown dough balls. "It is okay. There are just some that are louder than others," she replied softly as she eyed the snack.
George reached around her and handed the gentleman behind the stand a few coins in exchange for one of the sticks of doughballs. "Here," he said as he pushed it toward her. "Now put your tongue back in your mouth."
