"Do witches have mates?" Evelyn asked.
"I believe that all of us creatures do," Maxine admitted. "But, I have never really spoken with other witches enough to know whether that is true or not."
Evelyn stared down at her mother's book. She wanted to know if her mother felt that her father was her mate. And if her mother and father were mates, did that mean that she had one out there. "I guess I will have to see if she has made any mention in any of her journals."
"You are too young to find your mate," Maxine said as she noticed the change in Evelyn's mood. "You would not be able to notice your mate until your 18th birthday."
"I understand," Evelyn replied. "I would like to try crafting that potion for you," she offered.
"Would you mind terribly?" Maxine asked hopefully. "I do not want you to feel pressured in to making something you would be uncomfortable with."
