The next day, Marc slowly woke up and heard the rain still going on and not stopping any minute. Groggily he stretched and the blanket he was sleeping on fell showing his naked body. Marc did not notice it but his old muscles when he was still active were slowly coming back.
He had lived as a civilian for too long his body was not in shape even if he occasionally exercises from time to time.
"*Yawn* Whoa, that was a good rest…" Marc looked around and realized he was still inside the hollow tree.
"So it was not a dream huh?" Marc stood up and walked outside the hollow tree after putting on only his shorts as the rain was still going on.
"Damn, the place beneath this should have been likely flooded already." Marc stretched a bit and did not feel tired or sore at all. He even felt energized but he did not mind as he went out to get more items to finish the small shelter he is staying in.
While he was outside in the rain he looked at the tree and realized it was not any tree that he could recognize at all. Its fruit was not even the same even if it looked like a mango.
"Well shit have I been ghosted away?" Marc whispered to himself as he went to get more stones and shale to add in his tree shelter. He spent the whole day like the other day and even picked up some smaller stones on the way.
Finding more wood to dry he placed them by the fire so he would have more to use even if the wood let out some smoke. But surprisingly the smoke made was not unpleasant at all and even made Marc feel that the scent was nice.
It was by dark he was now able to almost finish the wall of the entrance with the door only thing missing. But Marc did not stop as he sat down the crude bed he made and remembered the tiktok vids of a man named Ronny Rust(A/N: Not sure if I should mention a real man's name is okay so I change one letter to make another whole person.)
Marc followed what he had seen in the tiktok vids trying to chip the stones so he could possibly make a sharp edge or something. But for the whole night he spent he was just banging stones to one another and hurt his fingers in the process.
"Ow!"
"Ouch!"
"Fuck!"
"Agh!!"
"Crack goddammit!!"
"Urghh!! Jut chip off already!!"
Marc was unsuccessful in his endeavor but he stopped his actions and rested for a bit. It was then he felt hungry and realized he has not eaten for a day. So he picked up one of the larger fruit he gathered and ate it.
And just like that he was glowing again and fell asleep slowly then this schedule of his repeated for about a week where the rain never stopped.
[After one Week]
"Watson I did it!!" Marc screamed in happiness as he looked at the scarecrow looking like thing he made using the blankets as he showed the thing he called 'Watson' the first ever successful sharp edge tool he made using the rocks.
"Hahaha!! I now have the power of tools baby!!" Marc celebrated as he had realized the past few days that he was in another world entirely. He was able to see the sky briefly when the rain weakened a bit for two days.
He had seen three Suns and now it was confirmed he was indeed ghosted away. The first thing he complained about when he realized this was…
"WHERE IS MY CHEAT?!!!!" Marc screamed but no one answered as he was not like the other protagonist in the novels he read. No system, no gifts and nothing that he could use other that the few blankets he was brought with.
Since then Marc was in denial and was more focused on keeping his mind of the fact he is now not on earth. He spent the time recreating the videos he watched to make simple rock tools.
This went on for months and Marc had realized that the fruit he was eating was enough to sustain him for a day and keep him full. He has then adapted to the erratic weather but it mostly consisted of heavy rains.
[Four months later]
"Holy shit!!" Marc exclaimed as he realized he is now carrying a boulder twice his size.
"Watson are you seeing this? Since when did I become this strong?!" Marc knew that he was already in a different world and could only trust to eat the fruit he was eating every day.
His survival skills made him alert and realize that he had been hasty and careless in eating the fruit directly and not making sure it was not a poisoned fruit.
He had seen other plants but he has not courage to try and eat them, so far the only thing he ate other than the fruit which he now calls Durango(Durian+Mango), he was able to find a mushroom similar to the Chicken of the Woods.
But this one taste like seafood, Tuna to be more precise, how Marc knew. He just felt like it was the most similar taste he could relate the mushroom with, thus he called it the Tuna Shroom.
For the past month Marc was able to make the tree shelter more comfortable and was able to make a toilet away from the tree shelter. He dug a canal where the shit would slide down and go to another direction far from where he is.
And with using about a week of labor Marc was able to make a rudimentary kiln where he made some clay pottery. He was able to make a large jar where he stored boiled water, mushrooms and fruits he gathered.
The floor of the tree shelter was now filled with stone chips and wooden shavings since he had made more stone tools. For now Marc was exploring the surroundings while making marks and signs for him to track his way back.
And from his estimates he has already scouted about ten kilometers in radius around the tree shelter. Marc had been looking for hope that he was close to civilization but he found no trace at all.
All he could find was that he was in a very large mountainous area and from where the sun rose he seems to be in the west side of the mountain. The Peak is seven kilometers away eastward and from what he can see if he goes west there the sea.
But he saw no signs of people or any clues of that there were any that lived there. Yet Marc still took note of it as he might be in a large uninhabited island.
Curiously he had not seen any kind of animal yet but there were burrows and nest that seemed abandoned. Maybe they migrated as the weather seemed to be very erratic here, but it wasn't until the next week that Marc was finally able to see the skies part and observe it clearly for the first time.
"Well shit, two yellow and one blue sun. How the hell does that work? Even when I did not pay attention to class I know for a fact that this would mean that the orbit of the planet is very different from Earth." Marc said as he looked up.
He now looked like the typical jungle man with his bare chested appearance and torn up shorts. He has three spears on his back with a bow on his hands and a quiver made of bark with a dozen stone tipped arrows.
He was able to gather metal to make some tools but he only has a few in store so only the crafting tools use metal for now. But once Marc finds a place to mine he would make more, especially that arrows.
Good thing Marc found a weird kind of plant that seemed to have a feathery like leaves he used as fletching but for now he is wandering the surrounding of the peak of the mountain. He had been charting the other features here and now he had found a cave.
Marc was alert as he walked inside while carrying a Mace-torch hybrid on his left and a stone axe on his right. He walked slowly to scout the cave and this time he found traces of a creature living inside.
This made Marc pause a bit and it made him alert, he sniffed the air and somehow was able to make out a slightly odor that made him feel a bit of danger. Marc tightened his grasp of the stone axe and walked forward.
It wasn't until a few dozen meters inside he was suddenly jumped by a shadow in the cave making him react instinctively slashing forward.
The creature dodged and somehow it sent an attack to Marc which he saw some sort of claw slashing towards him. He blocked it with the axe and swung the torch sending his enemy back.
Marc then felt the general direction of the creature and sent the Axe flying towards it using the whole newfound strength that he has.
*Thud!*
"BwakawcK!!" the creature screamed as the axe landed on its neck above its chest. A Lucky shot just enough to be fatal for the large chicken.
"Bwacawk?"
