ZOEY'S POV
I couldn't believe this. How could I lose my job? I looked at Marcus feeling like all my strength had left me."So your boss could not call me personally and tell me that he fired me? What even is the reason for firing me? I worked so hard, I deserved to be here." it may seem like I was talking to Marcus but I was talking to myself more.
"What are you talking about Zoey?"Marcus asked and I frowned.
"Didn't you just say I lost my job?"I asked him.
He too frowned confused." I said nothing of the sort." he said and I had to run my memories back.
Yeah, I did not hear him say that but his expression did say that. He had this expression that made me think he was saying I lost the job and I kinda blocked anything else he was saying out of my ears.
"But your expression kinda enunciated that I had no job. I didn't hear what you said, sorry."I said looking away.
