Ethan looked around and realized that he still needed to check who this Voice in his head was.
"It's nice to have a special superpower, but I would like to know why I even got the opportunity for a special awakening in the first place. I have read many things about awakening in the past years, since it wouldn't be impossible for me to awaken. Especially since I already have the bloodline of an awakened. But this special awakening is unheard of. And the voice in my head told me that I only need to think about the answer, does that mean it can read my mind. This thought is pretty scary to be honest. Okay, let's try it out."
He got very nervous. He adjusted his breathing and started his first test.
"System? Who are you?"
System notification: I am a Nano Chip that is transplanted into your brain.
He was shocked. A Nano chip was planted in his brain? By whom? And since when?
"Who transplanted you into my brain?"
System notification: "Doctor Epimetheus Stormborn"
"Father??"
The shock grew even further! Why would his father do this? And When did he do it?
System notification: The transplant was performed on 01.06.2359, without your mother's knowledge or consent.
Ethan couldn't believe what he was hearing. His own father had implanted a nano chip into his brain without his mother's knowledge or consent. What kind of father would do something like that to his own son? And what was the purpose of the chip?
"System, what is the purpose of the chip?"
System notification: The purpose of the chip was to monitor and control your awakening process, as well as to enhance your physical and mental abilities. As well as to give you the opportunity of a special awakening.
Ethan was both shocked and angry. He couldn't believe that his father did this to him after knocking him down. And to what end? Was it to make him into some kind of weapon? He needed answers, and he needed them now.
"System, how do I remove the chip from my brain?"
System notification: The chip cannot be removed without risking permanent brain damage. However, it can be deactivated through a specific sequence of thoughts and actions. Would you like me to provide you with the sequence?
Ethan thought about it for a moment. He didn't want to risk permanent brain damage, but he also didn't want to be controlled by the chip any longer. He made his decision.
"Yes, please provide me with the deactivation sequence."
The system sent him a series of thoughts and actions that he needed to perform in order to deactivate the chip. It was a complicated sequence, but he was determined to follow it. He would use it when the time comes. What he didn't know, though, was that this system had some safety protocols in place that would save him even when deactivated.
Ethan took a deep breath and started the breathing technique. [The Serene Breath]
What he did not expect was that after the breakthrough he could feel every Cell in his body and he could make every breath reach the last place in his body. He felt from one breath refiled and 100% energized.
Ethan was both amazed and intrigued by the system's ability to enhance his physical and mental abilities. He started to experiment with it, using different sequences and techniques to see what else he could achieve. He found that he could improve his focus and memory retention, increase his physical strength and agility, and even control his emotions better.
In time, Ethan realized that the system was not his enemy, but he also wasn't ready to accept it as an ally. He had mixed feelings about it. He no longer felt angry or resentful towards his father for implanting the chip in his brain. But he wanted to know why he hadn't told his mum.
Suddenly he felt his Grandpa and Sophie entering the room. He looked them in the eyes while floating in the air and was confused. Why did they look so angry and concerned?
He deactivated his ability and came down to them. Just when he was about to touch the ground, Valor hugged him.
"I am sorry. I am Sorry. Are you alright boy, do you have any injuries?"
Sophie stood a little distant with her mouth wide open. Were her eyes playing a prank on her. Was her brother flying just now? And why did it feel like the gravity in the room was much higher than the outside?
"…phhh, I can't … breathe, hhhhh, grandpa." OMG, if you don't stop hugging me, I will suffocate to death.
"Ohh, sorry, sorry, sorry!!" Valor left him and looked to check his whole body. "I was worried. The room all of a sudden got locked, and we couldn't enter. I am so happy you are whole. The last 6 Hours were a psychological torture for us. Your stupid father told me to guide you to this room on the day of your awakening. If anything…"
Suddenly he realized he had talked too much.
"Forget it. What happened? Why did you scream so loud?"
Ethan took a moment to catch his breath and gather his thoughts. He looked at his concerned grandpa and puzzled sister, realizing that they had witnessed his incredible abilities.
"I...I discovered something extraordinary," Ethan began, his voice filled with a mix of amazement and confusion. "I have this system implanted in my brain, a nano chip that enhances my abilities and guides me through a special awakening process. It was implanted by our father without our mother's knowledge."
Sophie's eyes widened in disbelief, while Valor's face contorted with anger. They listened intently as Ethan explained the purpose of the chip and his determination to deactivate it.
As Ethan spoke, his emotions began to settle, and he realized that the system might hold answers to his questions. He decided to approach it with caution and continue his exploration.
"I've gained incredible abilities through this system," Ethan said, his voice filled with a newfound determination. "I can enhance my focus, memory, physical strength, and even control my emotions better. It's both fascinating and unnerving. But I want to know more, and I want to unravel the truth behind my father's actions."
Sophie and Valor exchanged glances, their expressions a mix of concern and curiosity. Sophie finally mustered the courage to speak.
"Ethan, you were floating in the air just now. Are you saying this system gave you that ability?"
Ethan nodded, a mixture of excitement and trepidation coursing through him. "Yes, it seems I've gained the power of gravity-control. "
Valor stepped forward, his concern evident. "Kid, we need to be careful. If your father went to such lengths to implant this chip, we must consider the implications. But for now, we need to focus on what happened earlier. Why did you scream?"
Ethan paused, recalling the intense pain and the voice in his mind. "When I chose the special awakening, the pain became unbearable. I screamed because I felt the system was holding back my opportunities. It was an agony I can't describe."
The room fell into a momentary silence as Valor and Sophie absorbed the information. Valor's expression softened, realizing the ordeal Ethan had endured.
"I'm sorry you had to go through that, my boy," Valor said, his voice filled with genuine remorse. "We were worried sick about you. We couldn't enter the room, and the gravity felt abnormal."
Ethan's confusion deepened, his mind racing with questions. "Abnormal gravity? The room locking itself? Something doesn't add up."
Sophie chimed in, her voice trembling with a mix of awe and concern. "Ethan, when you were floating, it felt like the gravity in the room was much higher than outside. What does that mean?"
Ethan pondered for a moment, his mind connecting the pieces. "Could it be that my gravity-control power unintentionally affected the room's gravity? The system did mention the perfect awakening environment."
Sophie and Valor exchanged surprised glances, struggling to comprehend the magnitude of Ethan's abilities.
Ethan decided to set aside his questions about the system for now and focus on their immediate concerns. He took a deep breath and addressed his worried family.
"We'll figure everything out, but right now, I need your help. I want to understand the truth behind our father's actions and the purpose of this system. Together, we can navigate this mystery and ensure that no harm comes to any of us."
Valor nodded solemnly, his protective instincts kicking in. "You have our support, Ethan. We'll stand by you every step of the way."
Sophie, still processing the extraordinary events, managed a small smile. "We're in this together, Ethan. We'll find the answers we seek."
Ethan became extremely embarrassed. Wasn't his shout just because he thought the system would cancel his awakening. He didn't let one tone out while his bones were being broken and regenerated. This should have been a thousand times more painful.
Before he could answer, Sophie suddenly asked, stuttering: "Di… did you just f… fly?"
Suddenly, Valor opened his eyes wide and just realized that he did drop from the air before he hugged him.
"WHAAAAAAAAT??? How is this possible, flying is only possible when breaking through the moon rank. You are still novice awakened, so how are you able to fly??"
Sophie and Valor were beyond shocked. There were some martial techniques that would let you fly before reaching the moon rank, but firstly they never taught him any and second of all, one would need years of training to master them, thus they became extremely unpopular.
Of course, Ethan knew what they were talking about. Ever since he read about the ability to fly, he was extremely impressed and wanted to learn how to do so.
He shook his head and said: "To be honest, I can't fly." Then he continued, "I can only float by controlling gravity."
Both looked confused, waiting for Ethan to continue. "I have awakened the superpower to manipulate gravity". Sophie and Valor looked a little confused. They weren't sure if it was that impressive. Usually, for one to be able to bring forth the full potential of an ability, they would go to an ability research center. Through testing the genetically changed blood, the system would check the database with references and would help one to master his awakened superpower. After mastering this power one would reach a bottleneck and after the breakthrough a new ability can be added to the already existing abilities. And all they knew, there wasn't anyone with this power who has reached the star rank or at least the mood rank yet. Usually those special powers came with the major setback that there was no reference to them. And in the case of the gravity-control, it looked like it was one of a kind.
Their excitement instantly fell back when he finished talking, and then the unusual {System} talked to him again.
{System notification: Emotions of pity detected.}
He became confused. What was this emotion detection about? And why would they feel pity? He suddenly thought of something.
"System, Why am I able to use my powers instantly, without any training?"
{System notifica…}
"Stop with this {System notification} it is really confusing!"
{System notification: if you want to deactivate this, you may give the System a name.}
"Hmm, let us decide this later. First answer my Question. Why am I able to use my powers instantly?"
{System notification: I have helped you remember the feeling of being teleported through the black holes. By adjusting the gravity of the room, Your skeleton was forced to adapt to the different gravity levels.}
"I guess I somehow understood. So by healing me constantly, my body adjusted to my power faster, right?"
{System notification: This is half correct. The self-healing process was not made by me, I don't have any special power. I am only programmed to help you to make the rationally best decision. The Healing was done due to the speciality of this room.}
This whole discussion with the system was done in an Instant. He will realize on a later date how convenient this is.
"Don't worry, I am already able to control my ability to a high degree. Let me show you."
Ethan closed his eyes and concentrated. He could feel the weight of the surrounding room, and he began to manipulate the gravity within it. Suddenly, Sophie and Valor were lifted off the ground, hovering in the air. They looked shocked, but also impressed.
"This is amazing, Ethan," Sophie said, a sense of awe in her voice. "I've never seen anything like this before."
Valor nodded in agreement. "Your awakening truly is unique."
As he continued to manipulate the gravity in the room, he thought back to some of the names he had considered for his computer in his brain. He had thought about calling it things like Atlas or Gravitas.
As Ethan finished demonstrating his gravity control to Sophie and Valor, he felt a grumble in his stomach. He realized he hadn't eaten anything since his awakening.
His stomach made a loud noise and started grumbling. He felt a hunger he never felt before.
Valor heard that and started laughing. "Hahaha. Boy, what do you say we celebrate your awakening with a BBQ? Let's go!"
They left the training room and started the BBQ in a free area near the house. The smell of grilled meat filled the air as predators kept getting near but leaving frightened when Valor activated his killing intent towards them. He wouldn't let them destroy his favorite moments with his grandson
As they ate, they talked about Ethan's awakening and his new abilities. Sophie and Valor were impressed, but also worried. They knew that having such a powerful ability would make Ethan a target for other awakened individuals or organizations. They urged him to be careful and not to reveal his powers to anyone else.
Ethan nodded, but he couldn't help feeling excited. For the first time in his life, he felt like he had a purpose, something that set him apart from everyone else. He was determined to master his powers.
After they finished eating, they headed back to their house. Ethan was eager to continue his training. He spent the rest of the day practicing different techniques and refining his gravity control ability.
As the day came to an end, Ethan felt exhausted but also exhilarated. He couldn't wait to see what the future held for him and his new abilities.
When he was exhausted, lying down on the ground, he saw the stars.
He had been thinking about it for a while, trying out different names in his head. He had considered names like "Oracle" and "Aurora", but they didn't seem quite right. Then, he saw a shooting star streak across the sky.
It was a beautiful sight, and it made him think of the word "Nova". Something about the name resonated with him. It felt like the perfect name for his computer. It evoked a sense of energy, power, and potential. Furthermore, it felt like a name that represented the possibilities of what his implant could help him achieve.
Ethan smiled to himself and made a decision. From now on, he would call the computer in his brain "Nova". It was a simple name, but it felt right. It felt like a name that could become a part of him, just like the computer itself.
