Chapter 6 - Predicament III

"Dodge the incoming rain of arrows Flores!" Roan and Flores dispersed to hide behind a separate thick tree dodging lethal arrows coming their way.

The tip of the arrows pierce through two thick trees but not penetrating all the way through and landed on the right next to the two individuals on the ground.

"Close..." Roan sighed while back handing to caress his forehead to wipe off his sweat.

"That archer is persistent... but I wonder why we aren't being followed by the giant guy." Flores asked solemnly.

"Don't know but what I do know is that we must hurry."

They both nodded silently to each other.

"Let's keep running..." Roan mentioned while gasping for some oxygen.

Flores was looking a little better than him with just a few sweats.

They hastened within a straight line reaching upon an outpouring of a wide river cascade bursting out downwards from a steep cliff as tall as a quadruple story building.

The left side leads to a dead end with a whirlpool of yellow sand with skeleton corpses' hands and feet sticking out.

While the right side leads to a mangrove swamp, stench dreadful, moss coloured lakes and leads in three directions.

Further into the distance to the right, there was also a hollow horizontal crevice that reveals partial darkness escorting towards a cliff with purple coloured vines nearby.

'We can escape through that route quite well but then there is a risk that the archer could potentially cut off the vines,' Roan thought.

As they make their way towards the hollow crevice with purple vines. They came across a very intimidating looking cave.

It was dark, eerie and gargantuan, comparable to the size of a skyscraper. Sounds of snores rumbling the cave's internal structure with many shiny ores sticking out within.

"That is not something I want to go through," Roan thought.

And lastly, a big green grotesque head attached to a spear and to a wooden encampment with spiked barracks all around.

'I believe that is not a great place to go to.' Roan thought.

'Darn, none of these options are good,' he continues to ponder about this in his head.

"I'm at 3/4 of mana." Roan looked very sluggish while running towards a waterfall.

"I have just less than half of my mana left." Flores said whilst tagging along behind.

Flores observed mainly her right to see which option to take.

"We should grab onto the vine, but I don't know if it can reach the other edge of the cliff." Flores questions whilst gazing towards Roan for his reaction.

Roan nodded.

"The other two give me a bad premonition." Roan intuitively points out.

Roan and Flores run through the dirty, filthy and foul smelling mangrove swamp.

Roan's adrenaline did not allow him to stop his momentum as he stands on top of a small stone platform nearby to grab a hold of a purple vine nearby that seems stable enough to carry two people. His hand reaches out for the Flores.'

"Hold on to my hand!"

Flores takes his hand and proceeds to hug him knowing that they didn't have enough time to find another stable vine.

"I'm so MAD! How did that witch know that I would appear there?"

Black hooded giant punched a tree, decimating it from its roots.

"Don't you remember the intel had said that she learnt a detection ability?"

Black hooded elf sneered but kept chasing up to the two crouching upon a nearby tree staring directly towards them. The elf rallied their bow to aim at a thick purple vine.

'You are not getting away this round.' Black hooded elf thought.

*THOOM*

*THOOM*

*THOOM*

There were three arrows with green like spirals shaping its aura like a drill, accelerating at high speeds.

As Roan and Flores were swinging onto a thick purple vine, sounds of air piercing arrows appeared next to them, one shot Flores left leg.

"mmm-" Flores painstakingly bit her lips whilst looking at her left leg in horror.

Another arrow shot towards Roan's waist.

"Hold on tightly…" Roan said whilst exhausting all his breath and creating oily moisture across his whole body.

And lastly, their one vine that they were holding onto for their dear life did not last very long as it was cleanly shot by the tip of an arrow head.

'Crap.'

Roan and Flores hugged each other whilst falling towards a depth of 100 metres within a hollow crevice.

"AHHH-" Their voices reverberating and echoing across the inner cliff sides.

"Flores, I'm going to move you so that my body is facing towards the ground and not yours." Roan said hastily while hugging Flores tightly positioning her whole body upwards.

"Roan, I'm quite strong so let me try to scrape my fingers against the inner cliff side."

Flores then tilts Roan together vertically, jamming her fingers against the rough and rocky surface of the inner crevices creating blood marks downwards.

'This hurts so much' She bit her lips and tensed her facial muscles to the maximum creating a squinting face of a scary monster.

The pain was alleviated a little due to the presence of a young man, maybe to show that she is a strong woman.

"I will join you." Since Flores was holding onto Roan already and quite tightly, he jams both of his hands scraping his fingers across the irregular shaped walls like Flores gradually slowly falling down.

"This is so damn painful." Roan sucked his breath, his face red like a tomato and then purple like an eggplant showing both immeasurable determination and fierce resilience.

Roan seemingly doesn't care what type of expression he is creating in front of Flores as he puts all his focus onto living.

50 metres... 80 metres…

'There is a nearby ledge just 5 metres below us and 2 metres on our left, dammit, how do we even get there?' Roan was looking at the safe haven right in front of him. The feeling when you are so close yet so far. His mental health couldn't handle it.

'Wait a minute... why can't I create an instrument and use it as mobility or transport?' Roan then thinks of the best instrument to save the crisis that they were in.

'Status'

<[MP: 30/40]>

'Alright...' Roan closed his eyes, he breathed in and out slowly. The world around him had turned grey.

[Music Mode]

[Music Style: Instrument Creation]

A long, wide and grand instrument appeared just below the two. As each microsecond flies by, so does the creation of this instrument.

It had a long string of black and white keys, an instrument he had used to play his last song before he died.

Flores looked down at the big instrument below the two with anxiety and stress not knowing how this thing will save them.

"What are you going to do with this?"

"Don't worry, I got a plan."

Roan then...
