Chapter 29 - Chapter 28 OCTAVIET

Plans flooded my mind. Pretend to surrender then defend yourself once the paralysis stops. Find a way to use telekinesis. No. That is impossible. Come on think. My body started shaking. My heart was racing. I wanted to stand up and fight but nothing. My body was numb.

The shadowy figure got out her iPhone 13 and took pictures. She whispered, "I have to save this for the rest. These are hilarious." She laughed as her camera flashed. She moved closer to the candle. Her silver hair was visible. Her blue eyes sparkled. Fiona. She had a rep for her early grey hair. It was like a mutation that she had that showed that she was a hybrid.

I can't believe she would do such a thing at a time like this. She said, "Unfreeze." My muscles felt mobile again. I wanted to quarrel but before I could do so, she said, "Back to business, the mostri out there are getting close so we should act quickly." I said trying to push through my anger, "We can't do anything but run. They like ghosts. We can't hurt them." She said, "Shinki are just the worst." I questioned, "Shinki?" She explained, "They like embodiments of a strong emotion. Normally the bad ones. There are 5 Shinki in total. Skipping to the point, Shinki can't be killed by normal blades." I said, "Wait. Is greed a shinki?" She nodded. He is not dead but I saw him disintegrate. We'll figure that out later.

She added, "But Morpheus can kill them. Lucky for us…" I looked at Morpheus. It looked uneasy and restless like it was calling me to pull it out. I followed the urge. The obsidian blade formed. The blue energy wanted to bust out again. I held it in with all my mental prowess. It resisted me but I was not taking no for an answer. The black blade turned sapphire blue. Its metallic shine gave it the complexion of a full moon.

I said, "Even with Morpheus, I'll need your help. Maybe that sleeping calamity of yours." Olivia said, "Her origami uses sound so won't you get affected." Right. Fiona pulled out a pair of Bose Quiet Comfort Earbuds II. I said, "Why do you carry around…" She replied, "I live in NYC. What do you expect?" I held in a laugh. Focus. We are in deep trouble and not the one where we sent to the principal's office. We formulated a plan. Fiona said, "I'll be with Olivia. If things work out, we shall drink ashes by 2."

I went out of the secret basement. I plucked in my earbuds and played dumb chicken. Walking around with no destination in kind whatsoever. The air in the library got thicker. The lights dimmed. They're here.

It wasted no time and jumped on the shelves. It jumped like a monkey as it came closer to me. It finally said, "What am I doing? They have no weapon it can kill me. I can just directly attack him." It opened its mouth to do what I think was growling. It jumped straight for me. I pulled out Morpheus. The mostri freaked out. Its hair split apart and dug into the shelves on the sides. It diverted its path. It thought, "Morpheus. We need to change our tactics of attack." Its hair split into chalk-like dust that spread to the floor of the library. More dust appeared suggesting that the rest had arrived. Here is the hard part. I gripped Morpheus.

Focus on the intention. My uncle's famous words. Intention. Under. I jumped forward. Hands came out to grab the air where I was. Behind. I twisted Morpheus to his edges. I blocked the attack. The mostri retreated into the dust. I tried again. I blocked. I twisted Morpheus to decapitate it. I swung in the air. I was too slow.

One of them t-said, "You two, help him out. I thought he could handle it. " 3 intentions. I blocked 2 of them but the third one hit flesh. My left arm was covered in massive paper cuts. Blood dripped to the floor. My arm felt like it was burning. The attacks got faster. My back was slashed. I was no warrior to increase my speed. I had to act quickly on the intention. They attacked even quicker. I acted but still, my shoulder was sliced. I groaned.

My focus was lowering. My whole body was aching. I could do nothing about the wounds but watch my blood flow out. Focus. Don't lose focus or your life will be the cost.

Another attack. I had to end it here. Intention. Dodge. Kill. They came out each ready to steal my life. I held firm. Fiona t-said, "Sleep" Their speed reduced but was still fast. I crouched to dodge their weak swings. I positioned the blade and swung right through the 1st two's necks. I placed my other hand on the bottom of the hilt. I pushed up to flip the blade and shoved it into the 3rd mostri's neck.

The insomnium thought, "You killed them. I will make you pay for that." The chalk dust dissipated. Fall. A ribbon cut through the shelves in a line. That was close. More cut around. I steered myself to dodge them. My stamina was low. I got near me. It jumped like a frog from place to place while sending ribbons at me. I tried to get close but was quickly intercepted. I couldn't do close range. I predicted his next landing spot and held my sword on the hilt like a spear. I timed it and threw the sword. The mostri fell to the ground with a sword impaled in its chest. It laughed as it slowly disintegrated. I was confused. It said, "Have you thought why your friend is no longer casting that calamity." Oh, no. I swiftly pulled Morpheus out and ran to the secret basement. I found Fiona there. The room was disorganized. The floor was cracked. The door was broken down. She was taken. Fiona said, "No, Fiona was taken. It is only a matter of time before he figures it out." What did she mean? Fiona's silver curls turned into black hair. Her porcelain skin turned into honey-brown skin. Her blue eyes shifted to green. Basically, I watched Fiona transform into Olivia. A message wrote itself in red paint on the wall. Bring Olivia to the park by 1 or your friend might accept the call of the grave.
