In the afternoon everyone is awake but Xue. Apparently, she had too much to drink, so the girls stayed with her. While Chao-xing goes outside to get medicine. While Shoi is playing with Jing to pass the time while the others work in their garden.
As soon as Chao enters their bedroom with medicine, he sees Xue with a cold towel on her head. Her eyes closed and lips pursed. As if sleeping was what she wanted right now.
"You drank too much. We need to go to the village doctor." Chao says, putting the medicine down. Shoi rushes into the bedroom carrying two buckets of water, one in each hand. She hands one over to Chao.
He grabs the bucket of water from Shoi, "thank you, honey."
He placed the bucket next to Xue's bedside. Shoi set the other bucket down near the room's corner. Satisfied with doing her part, Shoi left the room and closed the door quietly.
Chao takes the cloth in her head and re-waters it, then cleans Xue's face and neck. Chao then sits up Xue, leaning her head on his shoulder. Chao then lifts her shirt and cleans her back. After that her legs and feet.
Once done he leaves the room. Going to the kitchen he makes tea.
After a few minutes, Jing returns home with some hot meals. As Chao, Jing and Shoi eat. Jing hands Chao a sealed letter for the group.
"A messenger from the docks gave me this." Jing says.
"I'll look at it later sweetie, thank you." Chao says.
Once they have eaten their lunch. Chao brings some food and hot tea to Xue's bedroom. Chao wakes up Xue softly.
"Time to wake up, little one. I have food and made tea for you."
As Xue wakes up and stands herself up. Chao feeds her lunch. When Xue was thirsty, he held the cup for her to sip.
After her meal and taking medicine, he cleans her mouth with a cloth.
"Still a messy eater, how cute."
Xue looks at him with glaring eyes, "i'm just sick, so my body is pretty ill."
"Now, sleep sweetie, and take it easy when you wake up tomorrow." Chao kisses her head and pulls up her blanket. Then picks up a pillow and puts it behind Xue's head and leans her head back. Chao then takes the plate and teacup away.
"I'll be outside if you need me. Goodnight."
Xue nods and falls asleep once more.
As Chao walks out, he turns back and looks at her again. His heart fluttered at seeing her sleeping in that kind way. Like Xue was his younger sister. Chao closes the door, and goes outside to clean up.
As the day passes, Chao opens the sealed letter. Opening it up, reading through the contents of the message. Once finished, he sighs and puts it down. Thinking about all that happened today. The fire officials came to see him earlier. They explained to Chao what was happening in the North Port. About the Rilu, they are attacking again. The dead Fire Sage that saw the girl near Turu water tribe.
And now the rumor about her being a child of Ikai. Ikai is the commander of this city. Chao was confused, why would the commander's daughter not return home? What is her motive?! Was she held hostage?
In the middle of thinking, the doors to the room open. Shoi and Jing enter. Seeing Chao with a troubled expression.
Shoi asks gently, "Chao, what does the letter say…?"
Chao clears his throat before reading, "Chao, I have heard Ikai missing daughter. Find and keep her safe. And since the war is going on, I have given you some help. Warlord Thorngil, will aid your quest on that section of lands. Signet works will be built Southeast of your location. From Creator."
The two of them look at Chao. Jing reads the letter over again, then sets it aside and sighs deeply.
Shoi looks at the letter, "yup, that's his signature."
"Thorongil…" Chao mutters to himself. "Out of all Warlords, the creator sends Thorngil."
"Do you believe him, Chao? That Ikai…. Is that girl his daughter or niece?" asks Jing.
"Ikai is fighting with the Rilu tribe in the North," Shoi says.
"But I never thought the creator would send Thorngil."
Both girls think. It's a possibility, but if this was the case, why would he send Thorngil? Why would Ikai's daughter be far from Asen city in the first place? If he wants her alive. Then why did Thorngil come instead of the Creator?
"If this is true… then the Creator's power has fallen. He is weakening." Whispered Shoi as she sat across from Chao and Jing at the table.
Choi nodded. "This could mean the Creator is getting weaker. He is centuries old."
Jing shakes her head, "The creator isn't weak. He is an important figure to the world, especially since the Creator is the oldest Magic sage"
"That may be true Jing, but even Magic sages have times of weakness, no one knows the limits of any magic sages."
"What do you mean?" asked Jing.
"The creator's powers were great enough that he could bend all elements of magic."
Shoi looks at the window where a huge boat lies, "do you really believe this, Chao?!"
Chao shakes his head, "no, not really, but he seems to have gone insane after hearing a lost teen and being unable to find her."
Shoi stands near the window, her gaze on the huge boat. Looking at its details. She spots a guy in a white long coat. Standing out against the rest.
"Thorongil has been spotted with an army…"
Choi and Jing look and watch Thorngil making his way inside the city. The gates opened for him and his army, as they walked by.
As they watch the army flow out the boat, they catch sight of something else.
"Strange" Choi murmurs, "Carts of steel."
"Must be the foundation of the Signet works." Shoi says.
Jing points out at huge boxes, being lowered by a crane. "He actually brought the machine."
"Machine?" Shoi says.
"If you have done your research on Thorngil, he is the General that tests… prototype weapons." said Jing.
Chao looks at Jin and Shoi, then speaks "you mean to tell me he brought a whole weapon factory here!"
While Chao explains the situation to Jing, Shoi sits listening with wide eyes.
"So this is why Thorngil was sent, he needed to make and test all those weapons."
"Test…" Jing says looking at the North window, where the war of Rilu is.
A young voice speaks, "We have to save the Innocent water tribe people!" Everyone turned to see Xue out of bed with a blanket around her.
With the water tribe low power and technology. They can use animal bones as weapons and water magic. Everyone thinks of the situation at hand.
"Well the water tribe will be massacred eventually." Shoi says.
"The war will escalate with other water tribes." Jing says.
"We are the… invaders!" Xue says quietly.
It is true, the enemy will be wiped. The winter land of snow and freezing waters, comes with challenges.
"No way!" says Jing, "Commander Malcolinus , Captain Ysabelot, Lieutenant Eloisa , Sergeant Holger , Private Belin. They're all in a group talking."
Chao sits on a chair, "The Creator is serious… What are his goals?"
Jing tone changes, "A dark hooded person is also leaving the ship? I feel… cold and darkness from them."
Shoi raises her necklace to her face. The white crystal turned dark. Her face was shocked once it changed drastically.
Choa felt the figure's dark aura. When he tried to walk, the dense aura made him kneel on the ground.
Xue looks through a spyglass at the hooded figure. "He has a death ring on his right hand."
"Death ring?" Choa says.
"Well only one person has that ring… If i'm not mistaken, this ring was an achievement for killing celestial gods. The ring was a mystery for decades," Shoi says, fixing her glasses up her nose.
Choa looked at the letter, wondering if his speculations about that person may come true.
