They made it back to the apartment the next morning with no extra breakdowns on either of their ends. She walked in after he unlocked it for her, bee lining it for the freezer to get one of her bloody treats. The witch hesitated to get through with his eyes down on his phone. He didn't have the ringer on but it was still vibrating in his hands.
"It's my coven leader," he explained even though she didn't think to question it. "Hello?"
Briar slurped on her blood bag as she took a glance at the clock on the oven. It was around eleven thirty. She was still pretty tired so, maybe if the witch was busy enough, she would try and get some more sleep later. Walter had moved her onto the bed in the middle of the night and decided to take the couch for himself. She was thankful for the chivalry but was anxious that he was able to do so without her noticing.
