Briar's lips turned downwards at the familiar building in front of her. She was not a fan of being back on this property so early. Another century without being on the Council's territory would have done her some good. Instead, she was put in a position that getting "assignments" from them would be a common occurrence. Of course, this was something she did to herself, but that didn't mean she enjoyed it any more than she had to.
Walter stood beside her with a matching expression. While he didn't like the option she chose, he no longer decided to change her mind. Instead, he would stand beside her without a single complaint. It was a loyalty she found too enduring. A part of her worried that she was using him, but at this point she wanted all the help she could get.
