Chapter 20 - Lie of the Upper Moon 3

"BLUE SPIDER LILY"

Everyone is shocked to hear that the blue spider lily has been found. The entire Infinity Castle is filled with noise and discussions.

"You really mean you've found it? How?!!" asks Akaza in disbelief.

Kokushibo says in a deep voice, "Yes, it's been found after millennium. However, I am not the one who found it."

...

"What do you mean?!! So who's found it?"

.

In an instant, the brilliant illumination within the Infinity Castle is extinguished, plunging the grand halls into ominous darkness.

Amidst the cacophony of shouts and clamor, the silhouette of a dark humanoid figure materializes alongside the demon king. After a few moments of tense anticipation, the light returns, revealing the foreboding figures standing amidst the renewed radiance.

The dark figure is Jigen, the Upper Moon 3.

Every demon instantly turns silent as he appears in front of them. They silently stare at him in fear, completely terrified of him. The upper moons stay silent in surprise.

Jigen says in a deep voice, "What's the matter? Why did y'all become so silent? This is supposed to be our biggest meeting ever."

"So, the biggest scammer has arrived. I hope you'll die the worst death possible and end up in hell," thinks Naraka, the Upper Moon 6.

... "Why is everyone so silent? Weren't y'all talking and discussing? Did my arrival bother anyone?"

Every demon other than the upper moons is terrified. They remain silent.

His voice becomes deeper and more serious, "Naraka? Suiryu? Lady Eliza? Lord Douma? Lord Akaza? What's the matter? Why are y'all so silent?"

"Everything about you is disgusting. Your mere existence is a disappointment. You're nothing but a traitor," thinks Naraka. He wants to express his hatred for him but he can't.

"Lord Jigen, that's not true. You've got us wrong!" says Suiryu, the Upper Moon 5.

"Because Lord Kokushibo is there. Nothing about you bothered me, at least for me. Also, congratulations on achieving such an impossible feat," says Eliza, the Upper Moon 4, calmly.

Douma stands up again and says in a sarcastic tone, "Well Well! I am glad to see you. I was just surprised that you're the one who found it."

"I appreciate your efforts! But how did you find the blue spider lily?" asks Akaza, the Upper Moon 1.

Jigen says, "I have spirits and ghosts spread all over the world. I can see anything I want."

"Oh! That makes sense," says Akaza.

Kokushibo approaches Jigen and says, "Muzan-sama wants to talk to you, Jigen!"

Jigen kneels in honor of him.

Kokushibo gently allows a single drop of his blood to fall from his index finger, watching as it effortlessly transforms into a sizable mass resembling mincemeat. This blood-created mincemeat then hovers in the air, emanating Muzan's voice as it speaks.

"JIGEN! I AM PROUD OF YOU! YOU'VE MADE MY DREAM COME TRUE! I CAN'T SHOW MY GRATITUDE TOWARDS YOU! WHEN I'LL COME BACK, I'LL GIVE YOU MY LARGE AMOUNT OF BLOOD!"

Every demon, including the upper moons, is scared when they hear Muzan speaking.

Jigen says in a deep yet calm voice, "It's my pleasure to be glorified by you, Muzan-Sama!"

"No way! Don't tell me that he'll surpass me in the future," thinks Akaza.

Muzan's voice becomes serious, "If you could do this, why didn't you do it already? Were you waiting for me to die and then become immortal all alone?"

Jigen says in a calm voice, "At that time, I wasn't aware of my powers. I apologize for it, Muzan-Sama."

.

"Is it true, Jigen-San? I can feel a lie coming from you," says Eliza, the Upper Moon 4.

Jigen's body trembles at her response. He tries to find another lie to cover up for his excuse.

She says yet again, "I can sense any emotion or danger in my skin. At this time, you're clearly lying."

Muzan says in anger, "What?! You were lying to me..."

Kokushibo stares at Jigen as if he will kill him at any time.

Jigen's voice shivers and says, "That's not true, Muzan-Sama. I—"

Muzan interrupts him before he can complete his words, "Will you betray me, won't you? You deserve to die!!!"

Naraka wants to reveal everything about Jigen's lies and scams. But he remains silent in the terror of Muzan.

"Muzan-Sama, allow me to prove my innocence," says Jigen.

"Go ahead and say! If you're found guilty, you'll die."

Jigen's voice becomes confident as he manages his composure and says, "Muzan-Sama, why do you think that I'd ever betray you? If I had to betray you, why would I find the blue spider lily for you? I have no intention to betray you. I'll always be on your side."

Kokushibo says with a little anger, "JIGEN!!! This proves nothing to what Muzan-Sama asked. What were you even lying about?"

Jigen stands up and says, "Kokushibo-Sama, whatever I said wasn't completely true. The only reason was that I wasn't sure whether I'd be able to find the blue spider lily or not. It seemed such an impossible task to accomplish that I couldn't even trust my abilities."

Eliza finds another lie coming from him. But instead of complaining, she nods. She understands that her next words can kill him.

Muzan can't read his mind as he doesn't have access to his cells anymore. "Alright! If whatever you're saying is true, I appreciate your honesty and efforts. You're dearest to me now since you've fulfilled my dream. I hope you'll keep serving me like this. You've done a great job!"

The mincemeat falls back to the ground and becomes silent.

"Muzan-Sama is done talking to you," says Kokushibo.

Everyone, including Kokushibo, claps for Jigen to find the blue spider lily.

"Now you can leave, everyone," declares Kokushibo.

Nakime teleports all of the demons back to their places. Only the upper moons stay there.

.

Jigen jumps from above and confronts the upper moons.

"It's my pleasure to see y'all again!" says Jigen.

Naraka approaches Jigen and says furiously, "Who do you think are you? What are you even plotting about?! What do you exactly want? Why would you even find the blue spider lily? Tell me... Who the hell do you think are you?!!"

"Naraka, I did everything for Muzan-Sama. That's it! You're being so childish."

Naraka's face completely changed to furious, "I know you were lying once again."

Akaza interferes and stops them. "Stop fighting! Stop it already!!!"

Suddenly, a voodoo doll that looks exactly like Naraka falls in front of him. A needle is pierced at its heart.

"What's this?!" Naraka yells.

.

Suddenly, Naraka's heart pounds so hard, and his vision blurs. "WHA—"

He collapses to the floor. Everyone runs toward Naraka and tries to wake him up.

Jigen seeks a chance and instantly disappears from the Infinity Castle and teleports to the peak of a mountain.

The mountain looms ominously, shrouded in darkness and mystery as night falls. The moon, obscured by thick, foreboding clouds, casts an eerie glow over the landscape. Jigen stands alone at the summit, his figure silhouetted against the night sky, gazing intently at the hidden moon.

Suddenly, a feminine voice echoed behind him. "You are quite mysterious, aren't you? Hahaha..."

Jigen turns his head behind and sees Eliza standing at some distance. He says, "What are you doing here?"

Eliza starts floating in the air and glows radiantly amid the darkness. She grins and says, "You were on the brink of death, y'know? If I didn't cover up your lie, you would be dead mister."

"Oh, thanks for that, Lady Eliza!"

"Throw out the word "lady" and just call me Eliza."

His tone becomes serious, "Why are you even here?"

Eliza chuckles, "Oh My~ Don't be so rude. I just came here to see you. Nothing else."

He stays silent and stares at her with glowing red eyes.

"I've never fought anyone strong enough to even rival my powers. I've been invincible and unharmed over the century. So I've decided to fight you directly." She points her index finger towards him.

"Fight me? I guess you've got some guts to say so. I was expecting you to ask me about my lies and plans. If you wanna fight me, just apply for the blood battle and the loser will be absorbed by the winner."

She laughs at his response, "How rude of you. Why would I apply for the blood battle? I am just here for a friendly battle. I haven't felt any pain for over a century. You're the only one to make me feel pain, can't you?"

He raises his index finger, extending it toward hers. They stand face to face, each pointing their index finger directly at the other, ready to unleash their powers.

"OH, THE DEVILS OF HELL! THE EMBODIMENT OF EVILNESS! THROUGHOUT THE HEAVEN, HELL, AND EARTH, I ONLY SEEK FOR SOLACE. NOTHING MATTERS. EVERYTHING IS A LIE. THERE IS NO GOD. THERE IS NOTHING. THERE IS NO ME. I only am— THE SHADOW."

Suddenly...

.

..

...

A white light appears and envelopes everything.

A few moments later, the light eventually disappears, and the sunrise replaces the night.

Some hours have passed in a few moments. The day is about to come. Jigen has mysteriously disappeared, leaving Eliza alone on the mountain.

... She is dumbfounded by the event...

"What happened?!! It's been only some seconds... But in reality, some hours have passed away. All I could see was a dazzling light releasing from our fingers. Where did he go?" she thinks.

"What was he reciting? All I can remember is that he unleashed the power of millions... No... Billions of souls. He absorbed the clouds and mist. I erased everything he used against me, even the eternal darkness spread over the entire area of kilometers.

...

So I won? That was a quick match. I overpowered him with whatever he used. Even after fighting the mightiest demon, I am still unharmed till now. Even after a century."

The once enveloping darkness has been banished, replaced by a radiant, heavenly light that now bathes the entire landscape. Eliza stands motionless, her eyes wide and filled with wonder, dumbfounded by the event.
