In her suite, Anita was whining to Jane about how she just met a confused Mr handsome who kept staring at her at the elevator.
"Did you just call him Mr handsome?" Jane who is Anita's best friend was shocked. Anita is never one to compliment a guy. In fact, if not that Jane was a country away from Anita, should would have used the back of her hands to feel Anita's temperature just to make sure that she's fine.
Anita sensing what her friend was thinking, casually said "stone head. Don't think to much about it. He looked quite above average to me and handsome was the best word to use in describing him."
Jane once again felt like she did not hear her friend well. So she called out to her. "Anita, is that you? Did someone take your phone from you? No, it's your voice so obviously no one took your phone from you. Are you sure you are alright?"
Hearing the series of questions Jane was throwing at her, she felt a headache coming. She also knew that if she keeps explaining, she would keep getting more stupid questions from her friend. So she changed the topic. "I have a date tonight" Anita said.
On the other side, Jane was shocked about what she just heard, that she checked the phone to be sure it's Anita she was talking to. Confirming that she was really talking to Anita, she muttered "blessed heavens. Today must be Christmas. No, it's a new year. What in the world is going on with my friend?"
Hearing what her friend said on the other end of the phone, Anita started laughing. "Stop thinking too far this stone head. It's just a business date with Mike, the new head of department I told you about the other day."
"Nice..." was all she heard her friend say. Knowing how dramatic Jane can be, Anita decided to end the call.
"Alright meshed potatoes, I have just 2 hours to the date time. I got to go and arrange myself. Talk to you soon bye." Before Jane could say anything, she heard the sound of the phone disconnecting.
******
Time flew by quickly and it was just 30 minutes to the date time. Staring at the large mirror in her room, Anita felt that she was well dressed for the date; Not too casual, not too formal.
She was wearing a yellow dress designed with red and green flowers. The dress was a straight gown with pleats from half her thighs down to her kneels. The top part of her gown was like a wrap top. Although she had an average size bust, the v shape of the neck accentuated the fitting on her. Since she is curvy and well endowed behind, the cloth lapped so well on her body, revealing her hour glass body shape.
Feeling satisfied with her look, she wore a black, short, block heel sandals and took a black purse before leaving the house.
As she opened the door, she was faced with the Mr handsome she saw earlier. He was also dressed to go out. Surprised by the coincidence she just smiled at him before locking her door and leaving.
On the other hand, Xander stood rooted to the ground. Staring at her till she left his sight. The moment she cornered to the other part of the block where the elevator is, Xander came back to his senses and immediately locked his door. He quickened his pace just to be able to meet her at the elevator.
As the elevator was about to close, Anita saw a hand that stopped it from closing. Xander reached the elevator in time to stop the door from closing. He entered the door smiling sheepishly at her. She was surprised but still returned the smile.
They were heading to the ground floor of the building from the eighth floor. The elevator was quite since they did not know themselves well to discuss anything. Xander tried starting up a conversation but before he could say a word, her phone rang.
She picked the call and said to the other person on the phone "I'm on my way to the restaurant, what about you?" Xander did not hear the other person's response, rather he heard her say, "Oh, don't be like that, Mike. I'll get there before you." All of a sudden Xander's mood felt sour. He felt like he was being cheated on. While he was sulking quietly, the elevator door opened and Anita walked out of it, straight out of the building to the cab waiting for her.
