He shuddered violently and almost roared, "I won't allow it!"
"Nor will I allow you to do something foolish," she yelled back at him.
He hugged her tightly, tears sliding down his pale, handsome face, "Then we will die together, surviving as many days as we can before that."
"Alright," she nodded with a smile, "We'll die together. We'll live for as many days as we can before we die."
He looked at the smiling demon on the corner of her lips, so beautiful, serene as a clear sky, as if placing life and death out of concern, yet with such a strong will to live, he sighed, "Wife, I feel so blessed to have you by my side, even if our time is short, I still feel so fortunate."
"Me too," she shared the sentiment. She never regretted her choice to save him when they were on the cliff.
The shelter of the steep cliffs meant that only a few of the large snowflakes that were falling managed to reach the wooden raft where the two of them stood, but still a few corners were unavoidable.
