Chapter 6 - Magical Beasts!

...

F**k!

F**k!

F**k!

Drake cursed inwardly, he was currently hiding in the back of a huge tree while panting heavily.

It's only been a couple of minutes since he left the old house, planning to hunt some small animals to eat but who would have thought that he would meet a demon disguised as a small cute rabbit!

This is completely insane!

An animal, one at the bottom of the food chain is actually too scary.

Is this the real world?

Isn't this place too dangerous? Can I still be back in that illusion world?

The memory is still fresh in his mind when he sees the small white rabbit eating the flesh of a full two-meter-tall wolf!

Its fluffy white purr contrasts with its gaping maw full of sharp teeth that can effortlessly turn the bone into a powder and the flesh from the wolf stuck between its teeth. It's simply horrifying for the current Drake.

If Drake didn't escape immediately, only G...only heaven knows what would happen to his pitiful body if the rabbit found him. Through the immeasurable time, he spends in the illusion, he didn't find a rabbit this scary.

This is also the first time in the immeasurable time that he existed that he felt extremely horrified and weak.

Currently, he was weak but not to the point that even a rabbit might pose a threat to his life!

How laughable!

Drake felt shameful for underestimating this real world and at the same time, he felt excited about the boundless future.

If a simple rabbit is this strong that already implies how horrifying the beast tide is? Then how does the village survive?

Drake shook his head, he would naturally learn the answer in the future but for today he needed to go back to the house and revise his plan.

He started to walk carefully toward the direction of the old house. Occasionally stopping if he heard some noises from the surrounding area and then would advance carefully if not. This happens many times when he suddenly discovers a bird falling from the sky, followed by the loud sound of crashing.

This event stunned Drake, but he immediately woke up himself and then began to follow the direction where the birds fell.

"Holy heavens! You took pity on me. HAHAHA!"

Drake walks faster than before, completely disregarding his surrounding area, his empty stomach already started clouding his mind. After a minute of walking Drake reaches the expanse where the bird falls.

The dust was still not settling down when he arrived at the location. In his surroundings, he could see several trees toppled down by the crashing.

Drake who had just arrived heard a weak whimper coming from the center of the dust. Though he could not see the bird's figure, he assumed that it was gravely injured.

Since he already knew the danger brought by small animals. He decided to wait for a little longer, a minute later the dust finally settled down and he could already see the situation of the bird.

The bird was almost a meter long, its feather was completely brown and its beak was incredibly sharp, on its back, a deep wound could be discovered, it was still fresh and the blood was still gushing out.

Drake gets close to the bird, planning to give it a quick death but immediately stops mid-way, he notices that something is wrong.

Wait... The wound is still Fresh.

The wound is still FRESH!

The sudden realization makes Drake terrified. Upon realizing these mistakes in his reasoning he Immediately rolls to the right while covering his head.

The sudden movement and action he made were taxing on his current physique, but Drake didn't care.

Slash!

Just as he rolled out, Drake suddenly could feel a concentrated wind from the right direction where he was before.

A concentrated wind slash passed and hit the ground in the distance. Fortunately, Drake reacts on time.

If not, he would probably die just now!

Without wasting any time thinking about the assaulter, Drake rushed towards the wilderness, letting the tall trees as his cover from the sky. When he felt that he was currently safe then only did he stop running.

Panting laboriously Drake realized that his back was full of cold sweat.

Hahhhh...

Fortunately, it didn't follow Drake. Perhaps it just wanted to protect its harvest, or perhaps it felt that he couldn't get any kind of nutrient from his body. However, both of those are favorable for him.

"I almost died again! You dimwit. Of course, the wound on its back is done by another beast."

If he is in the right condition it should be easy for him to notice the problem. Unfortunately, his hunger clouded his mind.

"Sigh, never mind, let's move to plan B. Act like a crow that waits and picks the leftovers."

Looking at the direction where the bird crashed, the corner of Drake's mouth curled up slightly.

Since you already humiliated me I hope you can give me a fair share.

If Drake's guess is accurate then the brown bird is much stronger than the rabbit. But still got severely injured by another beast.

His plan B also includes the other beast. Since he got intrigued by its power, furthermore he wanted to see and get information about how capable the other beasts are. By doing this the chances of his survival would increase in the future if he meets a similar kind of animal.

With that in mind, Drake began to move in the direction of the fallen bird. But this time instead of heading into the open expanse, he hides in the nearby tree. Silently watching from afar!

The distance between him and the bird is more or less 10 meters, enough for him to see the situation of the bird.

When he saw the bird situation, Drake couldn't help to frown. It has been a couple of minutes yet...

Drake didn't finish his sentence when he felt a strong gush of wind coming above.

Raising his head, Drake saw a full dark Raven with the size of a meter and a half and a wingspan that could easily reach 4 meters.

The Raven circles in the air before diving into its prey. Before reaching the ground it vigorously flapped its wing and a concentrated wind appeared in front of it, completely hacking the head of the brown bird.

Its blazing red eye looked at the surrounding area warily, When it found that there was no sign of any life in the surroundings it began to tear the brown bird's flesh before consuming it.

Drake who was hiding in the tree couldn't help but curse.

A f**k*** bird magician!?

A beast capable of releasing a windblade!!
