"What color do you think, Ruith?"
Serenity wove through the blood in my heart, pulsing throughout the rest of my body as though necessary to keep me alive. I inhaled a familiar sweet and floral scent. It traveled excitedly to my lungs, nourishing me with pleasant memories.
My vision was spotted, not yet focused on the bright room, but although I could not see, I knew where I was. And I also knew it was impossible.
"Ruith."
My eyes focused on my brother Elion standing before me. He smiled. "I asked what color you'd like to paint the new flowerpots."
I turned my gaze to where he gestured—a table of different-sized flower seeds and clay pots. Lifting my eyes, I studied the high ceiling of the forbidden greenhouse. The iridescent glass encompassed the room with color-changing rays of the sun, feeding every grateful plant with color. It was warm. The heat teased my skin as if it were real.
