Chapter 76 - Surrounded

"If you want to kill me, you need more people." The demon had a smug smile on her face, thinking that there would be nothing that Ding Ruoling could do to stop her.

"You are overestimating yourself, Demon!" Ding Ruoling roared while leaping as high as possible. He waved his sword horizontally to her neck.

However, the demon blocked it with her nails again. The clicking sound was louder than the clash from earlier.

Surprisingly, the demon got pushed back by the momentum. Even her nails felt a bit numb because of a tremendous force. It seemed that Ding Ruoling was stronger than she expected.

She ended up getting pushed back to the edge of the wall while Ding Ruoling finally gained a foothold on the wall.

They were glaring at each other, but it was clear that the demon had a lower chance to win if this was a one on one fight.

"You can only talk big. As one would expect from a demon…" Ding Ruoling snorted.

The demon didn't reply to him this time. Instead, she kept looking like she was being pressured and trying to find a way to escape. Her acting could be said to be perfect if not for the fact that Ding Ruoling had known the reason.

She gritted her teeth. Although unwilling, the demon jumped off the wall. "Just you wait, this is not over!"

"What?!" Ding Ruoling appeared shocked as he moved to the edge and found the demon falling right into the tree. The branches broke her fall a bit as she landed on the ground. However, her legs must be quite hurt because of it.

On the other hand, Ding Ruoling was forced to make a decision whether he would chase after her or not. The moment he lost sight of her, it was the same as letting the demon go so that the latter could make another plan on a different place.

Hence, there was only one thing that Ding Ruoling could do.

"Wait for me!" Ding Ruoling shouted while jumping off the wall. He also used the branches to break his fall a bit. But the moment he landed, he felt immense pain coming from his legs. "Kh…"

Fortunately, there was nothing broken during the impact. The wall wasn't that high either, so he was thankful that he could still fight.

He saw the demon jumping from one tree to another, so he began his chase. "You're not going away, Demon!"

The demon glanced at Ding Ruoling, assessing his condition. His condition should be better than her as his speed was faster. If this continued, he would be able to catch up soon.

The demon didn't really want to do it, but she had to stall for some time until she reached the location. So, the moment she stepped on a branch, she struck the tree with her long nail, cutting it down.

The tree ended up falling down to the ground, turning into an obstacle.

After that, the demon landed on the ground and continued running. Of course, she also destroyed a few trees on the way.

Ding Ruoling now had no branches to step on and he also had to pass through all these obstacles. While gritting his teeth, he swung his sword repeatedly, cutting every single tree on his way.

With his strength, cutting a brick wall was possible, so a mere tree couldn't really stop him. It only slowed him down, but he still maintained a certain distance from the demon, not planning to let her go away.

"This is annoying!" Ding Ruoling gritted his teeth. Still, the commotion should be big enough for the city or the people on the mountain to notice.

So, he had just to keep persisting until he turned around the situation.

To everyone's surprise, the demon suddenly stopped in a spot. She also didn't strike down any trees around her as though she had been wanting to reach this place all along.

"Huh?" Ding Ruoling, who had just arrived, couldn't help but notice something was wrong. "Demon!"

Unfortunately, there was no time for him to hesitate as the demon was right before him. He closed the distance between them in two seconds and waved his sword.

All of a sudden, a shadow emerged from the tree and stood in his way.

Cling!

Another clicking sound echoed, indicating that his sword was stopped with something hard. When Ding Ruoling took another look, there was another woman blocking his attack.

In fact, he could sense several presence around him, showing that he had been surrounded.

Ding Ruoling hurriedly jumped back to regain some distances while glancing around.

Three more demons came out of their hiding spots. Their strength was similar to each other and there was no way Ding Ruoling could handle all five of them at the same time.

"I see. This was a trap…" Ding Ruoling gritted his teeth.

"We have to thank you for sending that Administrator to us. You and your comrades will die one by one and we'll take over the Dragon City." The demon smirked.

"Take over the Dragon City? Impossible. You can't do that because we have a base here." Ding Ruoling snorted. When he mentioned the base, he remembered the commotion and knew that the people would come from that place to block him. Of course, Hao Yu had told him about the plan, so the entire scene had truly gone according to Hao Yu's plan.

The demon furrowed her eyebrows, noticing that Ding Ruoling kept glancing to the right. "Kill him now! We don't have much time and don't let him regroup with the rest of the cultivators.'

Without hesitation, Ding Ruoling swung his sword in all directions, cutting the tree and causing a lot of ruckus.

The demons had no chance but to stop for a bit to avoid getting crushed by the trunk. But that hesitation allowed Ding Ruoling to sneak past them.

"You have shown me the way to escape. I'm going to use it!" Ding Ruoling laughed while running to the north.

"Chase him!" The demon looked panicked. They hurriedly chased after Ding Ruoling from all directions since the tree could only hinder the people behind him.

And it didn't take too long for Ding Ruoling to see two more women standing on top of the tree in front of him. "Hmm!"

Ding Ruoling abruptly stopped as his escape path had been blocked.

"Hahaha! Do you think you have taken the initiative? It's really like what the administrator said! Now, you have nowhere to run!" The demon laughed. With seven of them, there was no way Ding Ruoling could escape.

After getting surrounded, the only thing Ding Ruoling did was actually smile.
