The warehouse echoed with a tense silence after Silver's words and Nikolai's face which was previously a mask of amusement, contorted into a scowl.
"Are you trying to play me for a fool or do you just want to waste my time?" Nikolai growled and the man holding the knife tightened his grip, sending a fresh wave of terror through Silver who fought back a whimper from escaping her lips.
"N-no, it's the truth. I'm really not Daniel's wife, he just said that to throw you off. His real wife is Emma Monreau and I can prove it. Check my phone gallery, there are pictures of them hanging out together this morning!" She stammered and Nikolai's eyes narrowed in suspicion.
His gaze flickered to the phone in his man's hand and he barked out an order,
"Check her phone," Nikolai commanded, his voice cold and authoritative.
