Though I realize that my transmigration has been effective, though I was used to jumping from one era to another I'm a bit startled at where I am now perhaps because I have done this for a long time since the vortex lock had got broken.
So, what? Am I now in the third millennium? I nearly chuckled as whispered to myself as I looked around the classroom. The classroom was elegantly futuristic. It was like I had been thrown in a first-world country.
Or is there still such a thing as that? How many fractals have I surpassed in order to get into this era? I wonder.
"Sir?"
A voice from a student caught my attention.
Is he calling me sir? I noticed I had been sleeping on a desk.
Sir? What does that mean? When he handed me a test paper that's when I realized that I was a professor there, and I fell asleep while they took the exam. Well, that's at least they know. I just fall asleep when in reality I have just arrived in this era.
I look at the test papers handed to me.
North Adams University.
Amdis Dale - Math Professor.
So, this is how my life is in here. A math professor in the human world.
The students left in a hurry and I was still left in my classroom processing all that occur today, and figuring out my next move. Year 3050. That's what I saw on the date written in the test paper a while ago. So, what will I expect at this time except that human intelligence has greatly evolved in this time? And if it does, certainly the civilization too and this university is an example of it. Its structures and designs even the equipment are far from what humans have in the year 2000. I was so engrossed analyzing things when I heard slow footsteps coming.
What's that? My vampire senses were immediately activated. I walked out of the classroom to check, and my eyes squinted when I noticed a figure disappearing quickly as if someone had run into the other building. My gut tells me that I have been spied on, perhaps it was already there watching me from a distance. I must know what it is! So I chased it until we were both led to the school campus's backyard.
There! I nearly caught it but then it immediately jumped over the high cemented fence.
That was so high, and he just jumped through it effortlessly! My intruder isn't a human!
I followed along, leaping high onto the high fence.
I snarled, baring my fangs when I got a grab of his back. The figure was masked. I wanted to rip off the cover of his face but instead, I just interrogated him for he was struggling.
"Who are you? Who sent you?" I asked.
The figure isn't talking.
I struck my pointed fingers unto his flesh. I felt his blood. Yet the figure isn't giving it up.
"I was just sent to welcome you into this era, Immortal King," the figure muttered.
Immortal King? That's how he addressed me? I was a bit surprised by that! That means they already know that I'm here and they aren't glad about it. I pinned the figure's neck. It groaned in agony.
"I'll let you live so you can tell this back to whoever sends you. Tell them I'm not terrified!" I said.
Then, the figure disappeared.
"Professor Dale? Are you okay?"
A voice interrupted. It was from a fellow school staff. I could see the wondering look on her face when I turned. I tried to hide my vampire nature and regained my normal composure. Based on his clothes I could tell that this man was merely human, a school janitor.
"Oh, I'm just fine. I was actually going home," I said, forcing a smile.
The janitor nodded.
I could hear his thoughts on how confused and wondering he was about why am I here in this area at a time like this.
I tap his shoulder, "See yah tomorrow!" I muttered and left.

Meanwhile amid a dark abyss were a circle of thrones. On it are seated the nobles of the siren clan, creatures who can transform themselves into humans, or into half-human birds. In front of them was its Queen who was arrayed in a colorful feathered crown, sexy and stunning in her glossy winged-like cloth. They were the sirens feared by all clans because of their luring voices. Yeah, they dominate the air, and despite how powerful they are they lack one thing --- they can just live longer than the mortals. That's why all the generations of their clan were taught to live for one cause -- gaining immortality.
Their clan has gone through hell just to reach where they are now. Before they were just deemed as a bunch of women with beautiful voices not worthy of noble things much more of the gift of eternity. As Siren Queen she had worked hard to prove themselves, terror, that's what she intended to spread, the impression she built. She wanted the other clans to know that their voices were too beautiful and they needed to be scared of it. It took years to build themselves, to build respect and reputation for their clan. And here they are now -- feared and powerful.
"Siren Queen, the demons have already sent their messenger to welcome the Immortal King," one of the nobles said.
The Siren Queen's mouth slid upward soon she was smiling sarcastically.
"So, they get ahead of me huh!" she commented.
"So, lucky that vampire he can jump from one era to another. The perks of being immortal. How I long to do that too," she mumbled while she picked on her long exaggerated painted nails.
"Send my gift to him," she instructed.
The other nobles nod in obedience to her instruction. The Siren Queen fell into silence thinking about how she was excited this time to meet the Immortal King.
Amdis Dale, I have waited long for you to arrive here. It is now time we play this game I have been long planning. She thinks.

It was another day at North Adams University. I arrived on the campus as if nothing had happened yesterday. I already adjusted to the life I have here in this school, and knowing my schedule and role here helps me to adjust quickly. North Adams has a reputation for having brilliant students, those who enrolled here are the smartest. I'm a math professor here. Well, thanks for being transmigrated into this time with such a profession, At least it's not a big effort on my part since I've been fascinated with math even before I time travel. My fascination with it actually began when I felt the physiological changes in my body when my vampire physiology heightened. I thought numerical calculations would give me answers as to why some creatures were born vampires. Yet, until now I still have not found answers, until I began time traveling, and discovered how time dimensions have a relative geometrical and numerical essence.
Well, teaching math here is something fresh! I think.
And I walked into my huge classroom, greeted my students like I was in my best mood but then as I looked at the faces of my students, deep inside I was hoping that I would see the face I longed to see here. Her face. I hope that she's here. I hope that I will see her here.
Thana Ames, would you still have the same name in this era? I asked myself.
The clock ticked as I sat by my desk waiting for my students to finish their output for today.
This is the boring part of being a teacher...waiting in silence! I thought to myself.
"Prof can you repeat the question please, I honestly have a hard time getting it," one of the students asked me.
"Okay," I sighed.
Well, at least this is good, I'll get to exercise my brain muscles! I think.
"So, the topic you would be writing about is what a fractal universe tells us about time," I replied.
I saw how my students' brows furrowed. I then got it that they were having a hard time understanding our lesson so I explained again from the start.
"Everything starts at a point zero then stretches out into a straight line or in different shapes, imagine those lines are boundaries set, and each in every line divided has a different time that exists, imagine the entire cosmos to be divided by lines with different times..." I explained.
I saw my students' faces so engrossed with what I was saying.
I continued, " The fractal dimension offers us an entirely new way to measure Time as the universe's complexity continues to increase. The interval between frequent events is the typical method. The new method assesses the Fractal dimension, a fundamentally physical relationship that provides us with a temporal foundation fixed to the Big Bang, an unchanging time period."
"Brilliant!"
I saw someone stand up in the midst of the students' row. My eyes widened when I noticed that he wasn't one of my students. The surroundings of my classroom were instantly changed. It became dark and everything in its space was frozen, as if time had stopped in this area for a moment. And there I saw this woman which I could tell is a siren, walking towards me with that smirk on her face.
The messenger! I think.
"Hello, Immortal King!" the messenger greeted me. She actually sounds threatening rather than welcoming.
"Have you calculated too well if you will meet her in this era? Or if you will have your wish granted this time?"
The messenger asked me in her taunting tone.
"My Queen wants to give you this present," she whispered when she got near to me.
And when I turned, she instantly disappeared. What was left instead was this engraved metal box on my desk. I was curious as to what is it, so I opened it to see what's inside.
{ We know where you can find what you're looking for.}
It was a letter. And my heart skips when I read it. I'm sure they're referring to Thana. I checked the box for more, there's another note at the bottom.
[ A proof that we are not messing up with you}
Her birthmark! How come they have a photo of it? I thought to myself as I stared wide open at the photo handed to me.
