Chapter 9 - Let's Dance

The previous week, Marcus Marshall was wishing his life stayed normal, but now he made an alliance with a ghost-like being. It's quite strange for what a sensible human would do.

Dominic was inside Marcus, but he wasn't in control. Marcus walked out of the class, a little happier than usual. Having a ghost inside him made him nervous and excited.

"Why do I feel so hungry? Are you sucking up my energy?". Marcus asking Dominic, a little frightened.

"No, its because you didn't eat yesterday night and this morning"

"Geez, did you forget how to eat also, that you had to starve me". Marcus teased, but Dominic ignored him.

The school cafeteria was closed as classes were in procession, so Marcus had to sneak out of school due to overwhelming hunger consuming him. He went to his Mom's restaurant, which was a mile from his school, immediately he finished eating, he turned back to school.

He was halfway to school when he saw a woman, coming to light candles by an electric pole. Her child died in a car accident, by that same pole. The girls ghost is always there, looking at her mother with tearful eyes every time. The girl was stuck in her ghost state, cause her dream of going to outer space can't be fulfilled.

The girl's mother was approaching the pole as usual with a pair of candles, a bouquet of flowers and some candy. Marcus wondered how difficult it would be for the woman to come here daily.

Some guys from his school, who were always slacking about, walked to the woman the instant they saw her, they were trying to snatch the candies, along with her purse. Anger started building up in Marcus as he saw the girl's tears rush down her cheeks.

'Why do they always have to do this'. Marcus thought as he rushed to the scene. He pushed the three guys away from the woman.

"Are you okay ma'am?". He asked her.

"Yeah, thanks". She replied in a shaky voice.

"Hey hero, why don't you walk away right now and you might get to keep your pretty face". The biggest bully said.

"Come on Troy, you should give him some respect for trying to get his ass kicked". The boss type said and the others burst into laughter.

"Even if you guys are deutschbags you should at least have some respect for a lady. You trying to steal from a lady proves the fact that you're little weaklings looking for weaker people to feed on. You guys should cover your faces in shame and walk away before I change my mind". Marcus said in annoyance.

 "What if we don't?".

"Then we're gonna have to dance". Marcus said in a deadly tone. 'Hey Dom, come see me kick ass'. 'I can see them from...'. 'Just come out already'. He felt a quick sharp pain as Dominic came out.

The boss gave the signal and Troy ran towards Marcus, he threw a punch but Marcus swerved to the side and punched Troy's armpit. As Troy held his armpit in pain Marcus delivered punches to his face, he moved backwards, his face throbbing in pain. He ran towards Marcus again, with all his might, but Marcus used his momentum against him and knocked him out.

Before Marcus could lift his face the bully boss had already fled and the third guy was struggling to pull Troy as he was also trying to flee.

"Thanks, young man". The woman thanked him

"It's nothing, ma". Marcus replied with pleasure.

"I have to say Marcus, I am really impressed". Dominic added.

"Didn't know one could impress a ghost". Marcus laughed as he walked to school.
