Chi Yue nodded, not knowing how to continue the conversation. Aunt Li, however, was chatty. Upon bringing up the topic, she couldn't help but sigh and rattled on incessantly.
"Your Auntie Dong is a pitiable person. If you can have your say with Mr. Qiao, take the chance to speak well of her if you can. It's very pitiable..."
Chi Yue pursed her lips and smiled awkwardly at Aunt Li.
What could possibly make a wealthy lady pitiable in the eyes of a nanny?
She didn't ask, but Aunt Li had started and couldn't help but continue, "Your Auntie Dong, for the sake of Mr. Qiao, aborted her own child. And..." She stopped there, seemingly realizing that these were things she shouldn't be saying, but the words were already at the tip of her tongue, and not saying them felt uncomfortable.
Aunt Li lowered her voice, "I'll just tell you this, Miss Chi. Please don't sell me out."
Chi Yue's lips twitched slightly, and her gaze deepened, "If you feel it's inconvenient, you don't have to tell me."
