Chi Yue was sprawled on the sofa binge-watching a series when she noticed his complexion wasn't great. She immediately paused and went to fetch his slippers for him, "Was it not smooth today?"
"Mm." Qiao Dongyang glanced at her. The light cast a warm glow over him, but his dark eyes looked like two black obsidian stones embedded with ice, so cold and piercing.
Chi Yue felt uneasy and walked over to loop her arm through his, "It's okay, we'll take it slow."
"Mm."
Qiao Dongyang patted the back of her hand.
"I'm going to take a shower. Let's go to bed early today."
"Okay."
The icy touch on the back of her hand made it hard for Chi Yue to produce a single word for a while. It was the height of summer, searingly hot outside, and yet Qiao Dongyang had come in from the heat with a coolness to his palms, his fingers like popsicles.
Chi Yue was somewhat worried about his health and followed him, "Qiao Dongyang, are you feeling unwell somewhere?"
"No."
