A commanding tone.
Just like Lan Mu, and, to be precise, just like everyone in the Lan Family, they all saw themselves as rulers, as masters.
Yan Zao replied with irritation from inside, "Did I not let you go out?"
Did she need her to sign a permission slip now?
After she asked, no more sound came from outside the door. A bit puzzled, Yan Zao quickly finished washing up and opened the door, only to find that Zhong Feifei was no longer in her room.
She changed her clothes and went downstairs, to find Zhong Feifei sitting on the sofa, watching "Tom and Jerry" and laughing her head off.
Her laughter was crisp, the sort that carried not a single worry.
Yan Zao paused at the corner of the staircase, looking at the woman laughing without a care in the world, and felt a tinge of envy.
It seemed she had never laughed like that.
And all because of a cartoon.
Auntie Lan noticed Yan Zao and greeted her with a smile, "Zaozao, you're up. Come have breakfast."
