Chapter 1 - Chapter 1: The Paradox.

In utter darkness, lied Possibility. Infinity. It's a funny concept really, the universal law that states there are infinite ways to do infinite things. It's the closest thing to describe a Deity's Divine Authority and the farthest thing us humans could ever comprehend. But… what if there was something more… A African-American, slim-fit Boy standing at 5'9 with dreadlocks, stood in the middle of this darkness, in what seemed to be a spotlight solely above him. He stood there in a zoned-out trance in the midst of the void, So fascinated by its vast integrity.

"-las…" a faint voice echoed within the darkness sounding rather familiar but, the boy couldn't pinpoint where he had heard it from. "Atlas…" The voice grew clearer portraying a gentle, feminine tone as the sound waves traveled through the void once more, causing the darkness around him to ripple with vibrations like a droplet on a pond, traveling through one ear out the other. "Atlas." The voice grew sterner and.. Closer? "ATLAS!" The voice shouted as Atlas woke up, shooting up in his seat abruptly as he accidentally head-butted his Greek-Thai friend, Sabrina in the nose.

She was standing at 5'2 and had long soft ginger hair in bangs on one side covering her left eye as the right side of her face showed her shaved sides. Her physique was mildly petite similar to a slim pear, coupled with her grey hoodie and puffy yellow mini dress, "Owww.. What the heck Doofus!" She winced in pain after her outburst as she held her nose in minor agony. Atlas rubbed the top of his head in more discomfort than pain as he was feeling tired, letting out a yawn, "Sorry Sable. I couldn't hear you clear enough.." his sentence faded out as he stretched out his arms across the table, similar to a cat while talking, releasing a grunt of relief. She grumbled as Sabrina went to grab her bag, searching for a remedy for her nose, as his light-skinned Jamaican-British friend, Jaxson, who stood at 6ft with Bouncy curls in a short perm that was barely sticking out under his blue baseball cap, chuckled at their exchange while sitting backwards in his chair. He wore his polo shirt, and black demin jeans as he adjusted his leather jacket that was lying around his waist that was complimented with his physique that matched that of a Track runner, resting his arms on the Club Table. He released a yawn subsequent to Atlas', grabbing a pencil and fidgeting with it, "You said you were gonna meditate, We didn't expect you to full blown fall asleep. What were you thinking so hard about?" Jax spoke in interest while fiddling with the pencil between his nose and upper lip. Sabrina had a Cold Brew Mula, (a Citrus sugary beverage able to be served either hot or cold), against her nose as she nodded mildly. "Yeah what he said, I didn't think you would be asleep for so long, You were out for like- a half an hour maybe?"

Atlas sat there in his chair staring down at the Club Table, pondering about his friend's statements and the "dream" he had. Was it really a dream? He felt like it was more than that as he didn't feel tired before but felt groggy now. During his train of thought, He had unknowingly been quiet for a minute. "Helllooo. Earth to Uni-Boy." Sabrina snapped her fingers in-front of his face, having Atlas break out of the trance finally speaking, "What?- oh right.. I have a question for y'all. What if there was something.. More." Jaxson and Sabrina stayed quiet before Jax broke the silence, "More what, Buggy packs at Mundy's? Because I can go for some food too." Sabrina and Atlas laughed at his gluttonous remark before Atlas elaborated what he meant, "No no, Well.. I could go for some- besides the point! What I'm saying is, what if there is more than Infinity, Like more than God?.." All of them stayed silent to the suggestion as they considered the possibilities of the hypothesis.

As Sabrina was about to speak, The sliding door on the other side of the room, opened abruptly with the sound of paper bags accompanying it. A smooth skinned, 5'4 young, Slim hourglass, ebony Egyptian woman with freckles, stepped through the door as the three of them saw that it was Nyla, The Club President of The Merkabah Club. "WHO'S HUNGRY FOR SOME BUGGY PACKS!" Nyla shouted showing the Mundy bags, skipping slightly over to them as her fluffy afro bounced with every hop.

Jaxson, Atlas, and Sabrina all looked at one another with the same thought in mind, "Psychic." Atlas looked over at Nyla and admired her looks as she approached, forgetting to actually say something but, Jaxson thankfully spoke for everyone, "I AM! Hehe, I'm starvingggg." "Mhm! You said it!" Sabrina agreed happily. Nyla chuckled at their reactions and handed them their buggy packs as she placed Atlas' food in-front of him, "You good pretty boy? You look like you've seen a ghost." Nyla laughed as she sat in her designated seat opening her bag and digging in. "Nah, More like I saw heaven." Atlas replied nonchalantly as he took out his food, enjoying his meal.

Jaxson took a moment to swallow the bite of his Sautéed Chicken BLT before speaking, "So Atlas, You were saying before about your hypothesis?" Atlas ate his fry before dusting off his hands, cleaning off his mouth with a napkin, "Right, So Nyla just to catch you up. I had the idea of, what if you could surpass infinity like, what people believe God is." Nyla stopped for a moment while eating chicken nuggets before resuming to dip her food into sauce, "Really? And how did you come to such a broad theory?" "Well, While meditating, or apparently sleeping, I was in this dark space that didn't feel like a dream yet it did but then again it didn't… And something just- told me or rather, suggested to me the idea of that there is more than infinity, which honestly feels like a message to my soul, especially for how much it resonated with me." as he took another bite of his Caramelized onion, Butter-beer cheeseburger, after speaking. Sabrina ate her Chicken Cranberry Salad, processing what she just heard, "Dark Space, a dream but not really… wait so you're basically saying the Darkness gave you this suggestion?" Everyone looked at Sabrina confused but Nyla seemed to have a more shocked, mixed with serious face as if there was something she was hiding. Atlas was the only one to notice yet, didn't comment on it as he decided to break the tension, "The Darkness? Like the actual Primordial Source? I mean it's definitely possible but, wouldn't the Darkness be evil not- Helpful? That's sorta like a paradox of balance." Nyla took a sip of her Pomegranate Lemonade, "Well, that depends on your perspective of The Darkness."
