Saying I had trouble sleeping was an understatement. The station was the worst place to spend the night, especially after Lizzie had just been killed and so when mom bursts through the front doors the next morning, I'm wide awake and prepared. She goes to the sheriff office, stays there for a while then storms out, ears red.
She says nothing and I keep my mouth shut, not wanting to infuriate her even further. We enter the beat up truck, driving away. Getting home was the bad part.
" Are you gonna say nothing?! " She starts first, shutting the front door.
" Mom please! Lizzie just died. I'm not in the mood. "
" I don't care! It could've been you that died. I told you not to go to the party - "
" Mom!!! " A little lower. " Please. " And I walk upstairs.
A pink paper greets me on the bed as I walk into my room and I reach for it with shaky hands.
Was that enough clue? Huh?.... I have to admit, killing her was a bit boring. Only the warm blood splashing against my body felt nice and how she called for you..... So sad. Don't forget, you have just two weeks and four days. And for each week you delay, a friend goes. So, who should I target next? Dana? Or should I go for someone more precious? Like Emma?
" No.... " I whisper squeezing the paper to a tiny ball. Tears threaten to roll down my face but I blink it in rapidly.
I won't let him get to me. No way. I will get to the bottom of this. First off, I needed to know everyone who came to the party, then I needed to have a list of all the victims. That's where Colson comes in.
