Chapter 1 - The Young righteous King on the road

"La lala la lala"  sang by the young king wearing a glamorous cape with a sword on his hip, marching like a soldier towards his state, he is not a small king but rather he is the one that governs everything. While walking on his way to his kingdom he saw a little child crying on the road side, the young king asked, why art thou crying young man? The little child replied with a teary voice, my mom scolded me so I ran from home, but now I can't find my way back home; the young king reached his hand to the child saying, come with me I'll take you home, the young king and the child walked together.

The young king likes to sing and he has been singing since he started walking, the child asked; why do you sing so much? The young king replied, because I love singing, even when the road is long and my feet are tired or when the rain wet my hair and the heat makes me sweat, I will keep on singing; because only when I focus on the things that I love that I started to find joy in everything. The child looked at the young king with glittering eyes saying, so I only need to do what I love to stop crying? The young king laughed and jokingly said; silly, even the things you love can make you cry.

While the two were talking, another king sitting on his litter while being carried by his slave passed by them, this king laughed at the young king for wearing a glamorous cape yet has no slave to carry him, the child saw how the young king was mocked yet his singing and smile didn't stop, the child asked the young king; why did you let him mocked you? The young king looked at the child with a warm smile saying, you are asking the wrong question, you should ask not me but yourself as to why did he mocked me; because a king isn't defined by how he is being served, but rather a king is defined by how he serves his people. Although I am a king I am no different than a slave, and a slave is no different than I am, the child looked at the young king with a satisfied face.

After few hours of walking the child found his home and was thankful for the young king for bringing him home, and the young king has walked a few hours more and arrived to his kingdom, the guards on the gate gave their salute and shouted; Good afternoon to the great King! The young king smiled at them and said as he walked in to the gate, thank you for protecting our people. The guards emotionless face were a cover up for their pounding heart of admiration for the young king.

In the kingdom, the young king was greeted by many different kind of people; some are offering food, some are children that wants to play and some are beggars asking for money, the young king stopped on his way and gave attention to each one of them, shortly a sound of many horses are heard coming, "Get out of the way! " shouted by someone, my king I have brought you your horse. In front of the king was his military commander in chief, thank you says the young king, and they went to the castle for the young king to rest, and in the castle the young king went straight to his bedroom with his commander in chief to talk with.

Has your mind cleared from walking my king? Says the chief, the young king replied; you know, no matter how long I walk, I can't think of a way to protect this kingdom from what is to come, the kingdom of Shadrach is getting near and their forces is only getting stronger day by day. My king you should sleep first as long as I am here nothing will harm the kingdom says by the chief. Three days had past and the young king enjoys his time helping the people of his kingdom, from carrying their luggage, doing their everyday chores and playing with children, but the more he sees and experience the smiles of the children, the laughter of the people and the love of the kingdom, the more his heart breaks secretly into pieces knowing that all of this people believes that their king will protect them from any harm, when the truth is that their king right now feels so powerless, but the young king's warm smile hides it so that the people of his kingdom may feel comforted by his presence.

A week passed and a news came to the young king that their neighboring kingdom has fallen to the Shadrach forces, and a day or two before they arrive, the young king then went to the top of the castle to looked down upon his kingdom for the last time with a warm smile, and seconds later tears started dropping from his eyes, I love you my people but this time I ask for your forgiveness, for I am an incompetent king, the Shadrach mighty army is coming and I can't fight a losing battle, every soldier that I have has their own family they go home to and has their own children that they lift up to the air while laughing; I can't shed their blood for this nonsense war, sacrificing my soldier knowing that it will bring no good result for we are outnumbered ten to one says the young king. While the young king was looking down upon his kingdom, the commander in chief saw him and stood besides the young king, before the chief was able to speak; the young king said I am soft but not blind, do what you must. The commander in chief stabbed the young king from behind and said; I have grown fond of you, you are a good king but sadly my loyalty is not yours, it is time for you to rest. The young king turned and looked at the chief in the eyes before saying his last words, take care of my people.

The End.
